A friend and I dined-in briefly, and staff were very kind & helpful when there was an issue with my card. The food is delicious (their iced chai latte isn't very sweet, which I loved!), the plants they have really liven up the space, and the wall of national geographic magazines from over the years were cool to flip though :)

I don’t know if it’s that it was getting near the end of the day but wow I have never I’d this kind of an experience. Not enjoyable.

Not great overall. Started with the person who took my order who just looked like she didn’t want to work for the day. Answers my questions with no enthusiasm, bended and leaning on the counter and no expression on her face. Second, I ordered a latte, the barista made me a cappuccino with half cup of foam. I had to ask for more milk to fill up the cup. Even with topping up, the foam was reaching the top making it looked full but when I pick it up it felt like air. I just went to the other counter and self-served myself some more milk from the jug. I pay for a drinkable cup of liquid coffee, not foam.

Today, I stopped by the Elysian Coffee on 5th and Burrard while waiting for some service at Mini/BMW next door. It’s one of my go-to cafés in Vancouver because the coffee is consistently good. Today, I went with a flat white and paired it with an oatmeal bar—and it turned out to be a great choice combo.

The place was quite busy and full, but there were still few seats available for customers as people do come and go. While I feel like the food offerings could have a bit more variety, what they do serve is not bad at all.

I was debating between giving a 4 or 5-star rating. With today’s excellent service and nothing to fault, I’m leaning towards 5 stars—why not?

Very good place. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the pastries are delicious, in fact we took some things with us for a later picnic. Highly recommended and the prices are good too.

Incredible coffee, I had the cappuccino - I’m not sure if it’s the roast, or the milk but the coffee almost tasted buttery (I mean this in only the best way!).

Great and quick service. Lovely spot - we sat outside and watched the autumn leaves fall. A great slow morning spent at Elysian!
