Disappointing. Went here for Dine Out and my brisket was so tough I could hardly cut it, never mind chew it. Cmon Fable, you have a reputation to live up to!
We love Fable. And we love Laurie, our server, who let me come early to decorate our table for a friend's birthday! She even helped. So nice, great burgers, menu. Very relaxed and homey! Thank you!
A fun experience with a friend, not a romantic setting for me but bar/restaurants often aren't. Food was delicious and the service was fabulous.
We did the dine out menu. Arrived at 5:15 ordered and were served our starter by 5:30. Waited an hour for our main despite telling them we only had 1.5 hours to eat. Starter was advertised as a beet squash salad. 5 x 1 cm cubes of beets and 3 of squash with whole bunch of arugula. The 2nd course was supposed to be braised beef. What we were served was some grey tough grizzle on mash potatoes. I can't remember the last time I had a dinner that I could not eat in a Vancouver restaurant. We had excellent restaurants- and Fable has a good reputation. Not sure what happened here but my stomach still churns when I think of it.
I went to dine out on a Wednesday for lunch. We waited an hour for food and another 20 minutes for the bill. The tables next to us also had to wait and I overheard that their food was cold when it was served. The servers were also unapologetic. I've never had such a bad experience at any restaurants. The food was also just ok, nothing amazing.
I don't take writing a negative review lightly but this was hands-down the worst/slowest service I've experienced in a long time. I can't comment on the food because I barely touched it - soup was colder than my club soda.
Reso at 715, got sat down but no one came to take orders or say they are busy and will take orders or anything within 3-5 minutes. We left after 10 minutes. Very poor experience
We waited almost 50 minutes for our food (with a checkup around the 40 minute mark), had to ask for water, and cream for the coffee (wanted to ask for a stir stick too). Our entrees came out cold but we didn't want to wait another 45+ minutes for a replacement. Our server was nice enough but didn't seem to know the mimosa feature or much about the menu and one of us was overcharged for the prohibition brunch.
Brunch was lovely (had the dine out Vancouver special) and the servers were lovely but service was very full due to being short staffed. Overall a nice outing.
We had a blast at Fable. Food was very good but the service was outstanding! Laurie was engaging and made wonderful suggestions throughout the evening. We will certainly return.

Came here for Dine Out Vancouver and we had to wait over an hour for our entree to come out. Although it was busy, over an hour is a ridiculous wait time... The waiter was kind throughout but would have appreciated they provided updates if they knew it was going to be a long wait. We waited so long my mom and I started to feel lightheaded and unwell... Even after we complained multiple times they provided minimal updates and we still had to wait around 20 minutes for the food to come. Table behind us came much later than us and they literally finished their entire 3 course Dine Out meal before we even got our entree. When it came out the portion was so tiny and looked so disproportionate on the big plate. Overall pretty disappointed and its unfortunate because we used to really like their brunch :(
Went for dine out. Servers were busy but friendly. Salmon bisque was a bit bland. Sablefish had 10 bones in it, while my sister's had none. Some quality control needed. Drinks and dessert were delicious. Overall a decent experience, hopefully food will be better from their regular menu.
The Dine Out was good value but disappointing. The soup was lacking flavour and was not hot. The beef option was small and had too much potato. The sablefish was delicious. The pours paired were smaller than listed. The creme brûlée was disappointing but the mocha ice cream cake and brownie were delicious. The glasses offered with the bottle of wine were not the same! The table and noise level allowed for conversation.
Visited on the Vancouver Dine Out for $39 dinner, great value. The sablefish was amazing !! Other guest tried the duck ragu and it was tasty but the duck was minced into the ragu sauce.
Went for the first night of Dine Out Vancouver. The menu was great and a good value. We tried two different starters, entrees and desserts and also did the wine pairing. Everything was excellent. Service was great and attentive even though it was a busy night. The menu options were interesting and all very tasty, well prepared and presented. The wine pairings were nice options and well priced. Would highly recommend. We will go back, even without the dine out option.
