soup too salty; duck meatball not tender at all; quite disappointing considering it's stellar reputation
First visit at Fable, ordered the Veggie Hash for lunch which was super tasty, although for the price I found the portion to be rather small. Took a long time for the Server to take our order and when the food arrived it wasn't very hot. This may have something to do with where the food sits after it's prepared. It sits near the front door which is open when folks are coming and going. As well, people walk past it when entering the restaurant, and it's a little too close in my opinion. I just imagine people breathing and possibly coughing or sneezing while waiting for a table. That should be reevaluated. Otherwise I will return for the weekend brunch and/or dinner and give it another chance.
The food is really good. We had a few starters and they were all quite good. The only thing was the main dishes .I think if it came with some rice for the ling cod to soak up the flavors of the sauce and the duck with some roast potatoes would have completed the meal better. As an option to add starters with my meal instead of just starters alone. Portion .a little on the small side for some of the share plates. But overall enjoyed the meal and company Pass on the maitake mushroom .it didn't really wow me with the flavors Bread and butter. Just that but good bread
We went for a birthday brunch and the food was delicious and service friendly and efficient. We had allergies to deal with (wheat and dairy) and they were attended to with care. Love the interior!
Not sure if it's just me, but I couldn't shake the feeling that we were treated differently here. We were one of the only few Chinese tables in the restaurant. When the server brought over our drinks, we told her we were ready to order. She said she'd send over “our server.” Totally fine—until our server never showed up. After waiting what felt like 15 minutes, we waved down another waitress to follow up. She immediately said, “You can put your hand down,” in this really sharp, offended tone. When we explained we were just ready to order, she replied, “Your server can assist you.” We told her our server never came, and she said, “But you have your water.” That comment just threw me off. It was such a weird response and made us feel like we'd done something wrong. It honestly wasn't our intention to rush anyone—we just wanted to order our food. But after that exchange, the whole dining experience felt uncomfortable, and we couldn't really relax for the rest of the meal. 😞 The food was good tho, but if you feel uncomfortable and not welcomed - you can't help but have a terrible experience. Would not visit again.
Have been before, the first time was wonderful. The food incredible, the service was over the top but this time was unfortunate. We were greeted by the guy who is always there hosting, he's great! Then we were sat at the table and it was just a series of unfortunate events after that. Unlike all other tables ours did not have mugs on it, my linen had someone's hair inside of it when I unfolded it. I ordered the prohibition menu which consisted of a couple more little treats. The scone was good. The service was below par, we had noted that it was our anniversary and it was not once acknowledged. The server seemed to feel very awkward at our table and not with anyone else. The food came, it was not great. Lacked flavour and love. Got the benny with pulled pork and the Johnny Cakes but the pulled pork had no seasoning nor flavour. Then came a cookie for me to finish off the meal, it was crispy and slightly burnt. I asked for a new one that would be more soft and the server had nothing to give. Offered us one but it was just as bad if not more burnt. The whole experience was super unfortunate and what used to be our favourite brunch place is no more..
Tasting menu was delicious, and so many intricate elements to the dishes. It's always lively, great food, great service. You feel welcomed the second you walk in and it's so cool to say goodbye and thank the chefs on the way out!
Group of 6 for brunch at 12 noon. We were early but the guys had our table ready for us early. Service here is excellent. I wish I could say the same about the food. Most of us had the special Benny. It was ok, mine actually was cold. As were at 2 others, same cold. We didn't say anything. The staff had been so accommodating about us being early. My brother in law had the smash burger. He said his was only lukewarm. I wouldn't go back any time soon. We were disappointed. But like I said the service from the wait staff was wonderful.
Really good. Wow. You can get a wonderful lunch here. Lots of selection and average pricing. Will go again.
Wonderful meal & service. The recomendations from our server were spot on. The ambiance was surprisingly calm & quiet considering it was all open.

First time back in a long time. Was surprised to see a kids menu which was great. Food was great and so was the service. Hope to go back soon.
We are catching up with a longtime friend and had an awesome experience at Fable last night! Everything was perfect! The service, food, drinks, and ambiance were all perfect! Thank you guys so much and we will see you again soon!
It is a Michelin restaurant. The first experience was very comfortable. It is of a high standard in all aspects and is worth recommending.
Expected a lot more from such a highly recommended restaurant. Some of the dishes were bland and then our dessert had ice cream that was freezer burnt.
The food was rather disappointing. We had the tasting menu. The wine selection for the pairing is also disappointing
