Outstanding chef(s) and abundant and tasty oysters (better quality and price than elsewhere in Vancouver). Good portions, took home extras! The Caesar salad was outstanding and really tasty

I love this place, we tried the lam chowder, the bisque, and the fried rice and everything was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. The reason I gave only 3 stars to the service is that some different waiters passed by to clean the table several times, and, during one of this visit, they took away my glass without asking. I only noticed later that my glass was missing. I did not complain because I did not want another drink and there was not too much left (probably 1/4 of the original drink), but it was annoying, as I left part of the drink on purpose, to be sipped after I was done with the food.

Our server was very attentive and had a really good sense of humour 😊 The food was outstanding as usual! The freshest oysters in town and the tastiest Dungeness crab 🦀

Went for our anniversary. The food was top notch! We did the oyster sampler and a whole Dungeons crab with truffle fries. The cocktails were lovely as well. We would def go again. Thanks for a wonderful meal❤️

My husband and I waited at the front as it stated on the sign. The male host took a while to get back which was fine but when I asked for a table for two and he said fifteen minutes in a rude tone and then I asked him about the bar seats and he again said 15 minutes as if I didn't understand the first time and said that we had to stand outside because it was a fire hazard to be standing where we were. The restaurant was more than half empty and he did have seating available but he did not want to accommodate us and it did not seem like he wanted us in his restaurant with the way he was speaking to us. He was so disrespectful! We used to love this place and were so excited to come back in but the level of disrespect that I witnessed today was absolutely unnecessary. We will not be coming back. He could have spoken to me in a nice way but chose to be rude. The discrimination was definitely felt and I would recommend staying away if you are a minority.

Revisited again in October — review updated:

Who can resist oyster happy hour? My brother-in-law actually went twice in the same day while visiting. We came for dinner, and even though the restaurant was unusually quiet at the time, the food was still amazing and the service just as good as ever. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely keep coming back!

My girlfriend had been craving oysters for a while, so we finally made our way to the famous Fanny Bay Oysters in Vancouver — and it did not disappoint.

Plenty of street parking nearby, especially after rush hour when the rates are more reasonable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which really added to the overall experience.

We went with the Daily Shucker’s Dozen, a pre-selected assortment of oysters from various regions. While some were on the smaller side, every single one was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also tried the large oysters, which were meatier and more satisfying — next time, I’d probably go with just half a dozen of those.

The calamari and tuna tataki were also excellent — both dishes were packed with flavor, although the portions were on the smaller side.

If you’re an oyster lover (or even just oyster-curious), this spot is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Came here for the happy hour and had two dozen oysters. They were fresh but 1 out of every 3 had bits of shell in them, which is unfortunate for an oyster bar. Please train your staff to be more attentive when shucking the oysters.

I've never been greeted by someone at a restaurant who was so rude!! The man was horrible! The restaurant business is a service industry and this restaurant was terrible. Who the hell do they think they are. Also the music was awful on a terrible loop. Never going back!!

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening and should have had the oysters that were on sale. I decided to try the fish and chips, the fish being snapper this evening. The fish wasn’t overly meaty as some others have commented on but the fries that accompanied the fish were lukewarm at best, I had to get them to replace the fries. By the time the replacement fries came I had eaten the one piece fish that I had ordered which was at least hot. The Philips Tilt lager was cold, that was probably the highlight for me. I’ll stick with Cockney’s in Kits next time I have a hankering for fish and chips, better value and you know what to expect.
