Somewhat hidden, but certainly a gem. Great coffee, matcha latte, chai tea latte. They don't have a massive array of pastries like other cafes/bakeries, but every pastry they do have is a banger. Service and ambiance is very relaxed, simple, and inviting. Love it here!

I first discovered Fife while browsing for pies and stumbled upon a review that said Fife Bakery's apple pies are better than the reviewer's late father's pies. After trying the pies, they really are the very best while being at a reasonable price ($25 at time of review, hopefully stays that way).

Since then, I've been enlightening others about these. They're so well-received that family in Taiwan responded with "apple pie" when asked what I should bring them from Vancouver (refer to picture).

I was hesitant to leave a review at first due to supply and demand, but the pies have been selling out online more often than not nowadays.

Thanks, Fife Bakery, for baking these amazing apple pies that are well-loved even on the other side of the globe 😊

Some of the best sourdough in the city. We always stop by when we’re in the area. Their chocolate chip cookies are amazing - though not always consistent as sometimes they’re under or over baked. My main gripe is the staff - the service can be pretty awful. They ignore you when you enter the store and almost seem annoyed at you for bothering them. I’m not asking for crazy service - it’s just a short interaction to buy bread. Basic courtesies (ie: hello, thank you) goes a long way.

This is a verrry small coffee shop. They make on site and have amazing croissants. I was surprised to find their coffee even for espresso is only in medium roast. They have many very interesting coffee beans with many unique and distinct flavors. I guess dark roasting will take away much of their character. So I chose to have a cappuccino instead of my usual Americano to let the steamed Avalon organic milk cut away the acid.

The country loaf is always reliably delicious, and usually still warm. The chocolate chip cookies are addictive!
