We have been coming to Fish cafe since 2005. In the early days it was our go-to place we ate weekly. Now, less frequently (bi-monthly) but always our go-to option for take away.
They are a fabulous and reliable fish and seafood restaurant-blackened, grilled or battered with rice and/or fries for sides. My favourite is the snapper blackened w lemon butter and half fries/chips. Nice drink options and cozy dine-in. Gluten free is easily accommodated. Our family is devastated for the owner who has been there since the beginning! We are hoping you’ll be back soon…..so sorry for the fire and hardship you’re facing!

Incredible restaurant with some of the best seafood in the city and phenomenal service. The blackened steelhead was exquisite and the fish and chips are next level, especially given their phenomenal tartar sauce. World class restaurant, run by a world class person. 💙

I can't give a good review, but I can't give a bad review. Why? Because we went to Fish Cafe for lunch and, although it was listed as open on Google maps, it wasn't. No reason that I could see. No sign except for some writing in Hebrew. My wife was really disappointed as we really wanted to try it out. If you plan to go, double check to see if they're open by calling them.

I did a search for best dishes in Vancouver and found this restaurant in an article. We ordered the seafood platter for 2 with halibut, steelhead and fries, and all the seafood on the platter was cooked perfectly, and enjoyed the lemon caper sauce. The fried calamari was the best I’ve had with a beautiful crispy coating that doesn’t fall off. Even the malt vinegar for the fries was excellent. Was definitely in my happy place eating this! The house salad was very fresh.
Many customers coming in knew the staff, and customers knew each other, loved the community feel! Will definitely come back. Thank you Chef Marcus and the friendly, hard working staff!

Food was decent but took more than 1 hour to come to my table at 5:30 and was barely busy!!! They also gave me the wrong sauce. The waitress said she would get my garlic butter for me but completely forgot. Response to reviews from owner are also concerning containing threats. I feel very empowered writing this review

I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and ordered the blackened cod salad, which was so impressive that I had to try it again this time. I also ordered some scallops this time, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. This is one of the best seafood spots in Vancouver. Highly recommended!
