Came in lunch time to grab pick up order. Not a single staff member in sight. Had to stand around waiting despite there being lots of customers dining in house. 1 star off. Prices were good and reasonable. Came back to pick up my takeout order, only server in the house was washing straws and cups in the sink. Do they wash and reuse straws?!! Gross! Also ignored me while I stood around me waited. 1 star off. Food was served in styrofoam. We are in the middle of an apocalyptic environmental crisis. Seriously? Styrofoam? And not recyclable plastic? Shame on you! 1 star off. Food was ok but lacked flavour. Extremely bland and insufficient sauce provided. Spring roll was over fried and rock hard. Will not return, it does not serve up authentic cuisine.

Tasty food, great neighborhood feel and great prices. Would definitely recommend the pho, lemongrass chicken plate with rice or the lunch special (Viet sub with wonton soup) all winners!

Less than mediocre vitnamese. I ordered the cocunut curry, there was no taste of cocunut whatsoever, and it wasn't curry, it was just water.

Five Elements Cafe is a quick and cheap Vietnamese restaurant located on Commercial. I walked from Commercial-Broadway station which was about a 20 minute walk. Five Elements is one of those places where you pay first at the counter and then get seated. I especially loved the Spring Roll & Vermicelli Noodle Bowl. It had spring rolls, grilled pork, noodles, greens, and fish sauce. The spring rolls were crunchy and freshly deep fried. The pork was thinly slice, not fatty and had beautiful grill lines on them. The whole dish went really well together and was presented beautifully. Five Elements was delicious and I definitely recommend Spring Roll & Vermicelli Noodle Bowl. It was filling, cheap, and so good.

It is a pretty decent sized, counter service (kind of fast casual) pho shop. The service was friendly and the vegan bun bo hue was delicious. I was glad to see a good number of vegan options/listed modifications to make meals vegan. I look forward to trying new items next time.

Delicious good, fast service and extremely good prices. I had a summer roll that came with peanut sauce and it was so tasty and only 3.50!

Looks a little dive-y but great food for a good price. Recommend the vermicelli noodle bowls. I usually get it to go and they're always quick even when it's busy.

Absolutely delicious Vietnamese food, I came from Alberta. And this is the best I've ever had anywhere in Vancouver. Great prices and large portions

I have been coming here for years. I've never had a bad tome here. It's a casual place and the food is always good abd the staff are really nice!

Went today for lunch, ordered the peanut satay beef soup... What came was a weird frothy opaque bowl of soup that tasted vaguely like peanuts and not much else. Really poor quality broth with no flavour. Spring roll was pretty good but wow. And you have to pay before you get your order.... Do not recommend
