Five Sails Restaurant

We have eaten at Five Sails many times over the years. We have never been disappointed but our dinner this past week was exceptional!!!! The meal was exquisitely prepared and presented. The foie gras was silky and delicious. The halibut was moist and the way it was prepared and presented was awesome. My husband couldn't stop raving about the duck. The attention to detail was amazing. Absolutely the best meal we've ever had.

My wife and I hosted a dinner for four special friends at Five Sails on May 4th. What an exquisite experience! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed not only the view and each others' company but getting to know the Five Sails Team. Restaurant Manager Kei Koarai is warm, friendly, and attentive. Alex Kim, who is innovative and creative, came by and visited as well. Five Sails must have a particularly adept talent spotter because our server, William, was the best I had encountered in years. He encouraged us to try a number of dishes that he guaranteed were spectacular. And they were! Top picks were the Poached oysters, the scallops and the Haida Gwai Sablefish. We did not order any sides and I would encourage you to share some. We did not meet pastry chef Daria, however like Alex, her creations are incredibly delicious and one of a kind. William encouraged us to order the "Apple". Three of us did and this was a unique and delicious creation. The Grand Mariner Souffle was perfect. And the house-made sorbets and ice creams were so good! It will be hard to choose from these three deserts in future visits. All in all, an exceptional restaurant with top-notch service and culinary delights. Oh, and there is a view as well, however we lost sight of that as we so immersed in the ambience and cuisine of the Five Sails. A Vancouver treasure.

We tried the tasting menu with wine pairings and it was excellent! 5 stars to the chef, sommelier and wait staff!

We attended the Sommelier Showdown presented by Fine Vintage. It was an incredible evening of great wine and food. Beautiful setting and view. The entire experience was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.

We keep returning to the restaurant since we have such a great experience each time. We both had the sable fish which was cooked perfectly and was so tasty. The sommelier recommended the perfect wine to go with the mains. Service was good as well. The views from the restaurant are stunning. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

My experience at Five Sails was absolutely exceptional. The service was flawless, with every detail thoughtfully attended to. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable, offering expert pairings that perfectly complemented our meal. We enjoyed the Lobster and Duck courses, both of which were cooked to perfection. A truly outstanding dining experience—I can't recommend it highly enough!

We've been coming to the Five Sails for many years, even prior to its current Glowbal ownership, and it continues to be our absolutely favorite fine-dining place to celebrate special occasions. The food was exquisite---our starters (lobster bisque, scallops, yellowtail crudo), mains (duck, sablefish), and desserts (honey cake, bananas Foster, chocolate souffle) were beautifully prepared and presented and, most importantly, tasted absolutely delicious! The service and hospitality (thank you Martina and Jason!) were top notch as well. All that, plus the stunning waterfront views, made for a perfect dining experience.

A great location with wonderful views of the harbour and mountains. The service was excellent. We were impressed with the lobster bisque with a crab and scallop base which was very favourable and a delightful presentation. The main course of beef tenderloin with short rib Ragu lacked flavour and in my opinion not a good quality. The desserts were impressive in presentation and delish...... Overall a rather enjoyable experience. Staff very. 💕 accomodating and friendly.

We booked a Christmas Staff Party at Five Sails early in December because 2 staff members were retiring, and we wanted it to be special. Five Sails did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted by our main waiter, Vinny, who proceeded to entertain us with wonderful descriptions of the available cocktails and drinks. As more of our guests arrived, he proceeded to memorize each of our names (20 of us) and served us our drinks. Our meal continued with amazing hor d'hoeuvres, a wonderfully prepared dinner and dessert. The service was unrushed, and elegant. In addition, Vinny arranged to have the pastry chef prepare a special dessert for the two of us who retired and made a magical night even more memorable. We could not have had a more lovely evening!

I book a table to celebrate my girlfriend birthday, weeks in advance. Heard many great things about the restaurant so wanted to try it.
Got a call less than 2 weeks to go, they said they were close and canceled my reservation.
Bad first impression, you should be more organized.

Was taken here as a surprise birthday dinner and WOW they’d did not disappoint! Great food, service AND a beautiful view. William our server was superb! Him and others on the serving team and in the kitchen worked hard to give us a great experience in a short time frame so that we could make a show that was directly after the dinner. Would go back and would 100% recommend to others who are looking to celebrate an occasion over some great food.
