Lobster main course was six thin cross cuts (2 to 3 ounces), wine by the glass was a short pour at the table (5 oz max), 7 dollars for an extra bread roll. Great service and view but a total ripoff on portions.

My boyfriend took me here for our four year anniversary and we had an amazing time! Jesse was a fantastic server and we want to thank him for answering all of our questions and giving the recommendations! Thanks also to Alex Kim for curating such a delicious menu and preparing each dish so tastefully!

We got to start off the dinner with a dungness crab custard and sweet bread along with our mocktails. Our appetizers consisted of the asparagus and scallop which were both delicious, the addition of nuts + pineapple with the asparagus and the cornball for scallops was amazing! Our mains followed (sablefish + wagyu), I loved the glaze on the sablefish but the wagyu will be remembered - buttery, soft, melts right in your mouth... To end it all, we had a delicious honeycomb cake!

We didn't even realize how late we stayed until we checked the time and saw the restaurant was getting ready for closing. I appreciate not being rushed out either, we really enjoyed our moment here and I'm so happy we came!

Wonderful experience!
We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings. The menu items were creative and really highlighted the quality of ingredients available in the region, and the unique wine pairings complemented every course. Our waiter, William, was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. Would very much recommend and will be back!

An outstanding experience at one of the finest restaurants in Canada. Chef Alex Kim’s course menu was exceptional, each dish full of surprising flavors and presented with care. We were celebrating a birthday and our wedding, and the team made it truly memorable with thoughtful touches throughout.

Our server, Esther, was excellent - attentive, kind, and engaging. Service overall was flawless, we were even brought to the kitchen to meet Chef Alex and his team. A perfect evening from start to finish.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Five Sails! From the moment we arrived, our host Esther made us feel so special. She was putting so much care into every detail to ensure we had a memorable evening.

It was my birthday, and the team surprised me with a beautiful birthday dessert plate that made the night even more meaningful. We chose the course menu, and every dish was both visually stunning and incredibly delicious.

Chef Alex Kim went above and beyond, even taking the time to greet us and give us a peek inside the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful touch. The entire staff’s kindness and attention to detail truly stood out.

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special night out in Vancouver!

Wow. The view is incredible. But that is outdone by the service and food quality. They pace the service - so it does take time - but in a friendly, professional and enjoyable way. Kei the AGM is super professional friendly and soooo genuine. Martina was an amazing server. A definite must do as part of the amazing Glowbal group. Definitely a must go to (and return to) experience.

What a wonderful experience! The food and service were top notch and the views and ambience were spectacular! The best meal we have had in a long time. The chef’s tasting menu with the sommelier wine pairing was outstanding. Many thanks to William, Kei, the chefs, and all the staff for making it such a special night. We highly recommend!

My party was left sitting with empty drinks on 5 separate occasions throughout our dinner while the server walked past, unable to even glance our direction. This was particularly bad when our mains were brought out and all 3 of us had empty glasses. Were we supposed to let our $70 dinners get cold while we waited for the wine pairings to arrive? Then, whenever the opportunity to actually order drinks did come, actually getting the drinks was another marathon. In one case, I waited 20 minutes for a beer. Sure, a hand-made cocktail on a busy night might take a while. But pouring a beer when the restaurant is half-empty?? Recommendation to management: spend less time rehearsing the pageantry of having 3 plates appear at once and more time on getting the basics right. I’ve had better service at roadside diners and sports bars. Terrible.

Had an excellent dinner experience at Five Sails. The service was superb - Raymond, our server, was so accommodating, knowledgeable and warm. Had the best lobster tail we’ve ever tasted - husband joked that we can now only eat lobster here. Only thing was I missed out on the view as I was delayed and arrived after dark. Would definitely make a return visit to Five Sails if I’m in Vancouver again!
