I visited the Flying Whale Café on a sunny Thursday afternoon in summer, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. Located right in front of FlyOver Canada at Canada Place, the café offers a relaxed waterfront vibe with stunning views, especially of the cruise ships docked nearby. Since it wasn’t too crowded, we grabbed a seat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and scenic harbour backdrop.
We tried the lemon loaf cake, which was moist and flavourful, and the almond croissant that had a perfect balance of flakiness and nutty sweetness. Our drinks included a refreshing iced latte, ideal for the warm day, a hot tea, and two regular lattes, all of which were well-prepared and satisfying. The overall taste and presentation were impressive.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the pricing felt fair considering the location and quality. Whether you're visiting FlyOver Canada or just strolling along the waterfront, the Flying Whale Café is a great spot to relax, enjoy a snack, and soak in the views. Highly recommended for a casual break or a light bite with a touch of Vancouver charm.

Great service and food
I ordered the butter chicken with rice, and although I had to wait about 30 minutes to get the rice, it was absolutely worth the wait. The butter chicken was flavorful, tender, and perfectly spiced. My wife opted for the butter chicken with potato, and she loved it as well.
We also tried their donut, special Valentine’s cookie, the blue whale iced tea and blue whale lemonade. Everything was delicious, especially the drinks, which were refreshing and unique. The Valentine’s cookie was the perfect sweet treat to round off the meal.
The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Visiting in February, it seemed we just beat the rush, so I can only imagine it being very busy come summer time.
Terrible service!! Was served a frozen cheesecake, staff didn’t even bother to thaw it before serving.

I ordered the Iced Caramel Matcha Latte, but I still could feel and taste chunky lumpy matcha powder. I could not drink that!! It was sooo bad! Even though the service was fast….
