I’ve visited this venue several times and consistently have a great experience. It’s a solid 5-star spot, though there are a few things to keep in mind for the best visit.
On peak nights, it does get quite crowded; you’ll want to be mindful of your space to avoid the occasional spilled drink. The atmosphere is heavily influenced by the music lineup, so it’s worth checking the schedule if you’re visiting specifically to dance.
While the layout and vibe lean toward group outings rather than solo visits, the clientele is generally laid-back and very easy to talk to. Additionally, the security staff deserves a mention—the bouncers are professional, chill, and much friendlier than your average spot. Definitely a place I recommend.

I worked in clubs for 20 years. This is my new favourite spot in Vancouver. The venue is incredible. The music is fantastic, fun, upbeat, and happy. The patrons are all smiling, chatty and fun. The staff are fantastic, happy, always willing to help. The doormen are hilarious and fun to talk to as well. All around great time; fair pricing, good staff, fantastic vibe.

the Fox Cabaret has the most wonderful group of staff i’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with in a venue before. I have to specifically comment on their security team, who are SO kind, friendly and helpful, while still doing a thorough job in making sure things stay safe and controlled. The sound quality is incredible no matter the genre of music being played, and the lighting is always spectacular and incredibly complimentary to the bands on stage. unfortunately i’ve never grabbed a cocktail here, but from what i’ve seen friends drinking them, they all look delicious. the fox is where it’s at in vancouver!

Great bands. Gouging patrons $2 for a 25¢ pair of foam earplugs when the sound system is over 100dB? Not great.
Didn't eat here but saw a friend's band. Friendly staff and the old place has tons of atmosphere. Intimate atmosphere.
