Well idk what I’m paying for. The price on their menu doesn’t match to the quality of the food. Service was good before we pointed out the food was too salty. Nice decorations, btw, but it is not the whole point of a restaurant.

It’s sad to say goodbye to this restaurant, it always felt like stepping into my grandparents’ home.
The lobster bisque tasted like comfort itself, it's the kind of soup you crave when you’re sick or homesick. I wiped the bowl clean with the baguette, making sure not a single drop went to waste.
The duck confit was to die for. I usually don’t like soft skin, but this time it melted in my mouth, so did the white beans. The Toulouse sausage was equally delicious.
Chef Hervé personally served every dish at my table and even “warned” me to finish the sauce with my baguette as I was enjoying the escargot. It’s hard to believe that in just one week, he will be leaving this place. Merci chef!

Avoid the steak at all costs. Chewiest one we’ve ever had. When I mentioned it at the table, the owner’s response was that ‘it was from Alberta’.
I guess they have tough cows there too.
Good sauce, weak fries and minimalist veggies. Fisherman’s soup incredibly bland. My husband’s pate in a crust looked like a mystery meat shepherds pie filing.
On the plus side great lobster bisque and creme caramel. Service was friendly tho our server smelled really strongly of tobacco.
Vesper martini very watery and the recommended red wine was 3.5 on Vivino. The draft beer name Vasiki (??) was complete nonsense.. a lazy error… should have been Dos Equis.
Our friends liked the French onion soup. The Coq au vin not so much. The sauce was so thick and green it looked like mole. Hard tell what the dish or the chicken was. Pasta was good.
The owner is keen to sell.. may happen in January.

I loved the food and service I received with my wife. The place was gorgeous and cozy.
I would do anything to make her happy and show her a good time.
If the owner wants constructive criticism a few notes I have.
I booked my reservation for my wife’s 25th birthday weeks in advanced but when I called to double check my booking they had no idea.
Luckily I informed them in time and was able to get us in for birthday.
Sadly not one worker wished her a happy birthday even after going through the trouble to have to rebook her birthday reservation twice.
The prices were very expensive, I would say far too expensive… If charging such premium’s I think when having 4 tables actively being served with 3 workers on deck it shouldn’t be hard to manage reservations and respects to those celebrating.
With that being said no complaints of the food and service.
Respectively, prices can definitely be dropped and more due diligence will separate this from a 4-5 star place.
Thanks for the great meal.

BEWARE! Their site shows a 3-course meal for $42. THIS DOES NOT EXIST. A server told us that it hasn’t been on the menu for years!
The restaurant should immediately update their website to avoid luring clients on a false premise.
This was the only reason our group chose this restaurant.
They also need another credit card machine, as they only have one!
In all fairness, I was personally very satisfied with my cassoulet entree and my friend loved the calf liver. Most were very disappointed with the coq au vin.
I will go back if they become more forthright on their site.
This is one of the few restaurants where the owner has truly poured his heart, years of experience, and dedication into creating such a special place. For me, it has always been associated with hospitality, delicious food, and excellent service!
I personally know the owner, and he is not the kind of person who would mistreat people. Unfortunately, people online often hear only one side of the story and rush to judge without knowing the full situation.
I love this restaurant and highly recommend it to everyone! a million stars!

If I could add video, I would. The owner blocked my car in during non operating hours for a half hour. The owner stated that he owns the land, including the parking behind the restaurant and I needed permission before parking. I parked my car and walked to the front of the restaurant to find that it was closed. When I returned, I was berated by him and told that he will be going to work for 5 hours and I will remain blocked in the whole time. The owner moved his car so that it blocked the whole parking lot (parking across stalls at an angle) to ensure that I would be stuck there and unable to maneuver around his car. He then sat in the car filming me and refusing to move. I politely asked multiple times to be released and he said that this was “fun” and “entertaining” for him and he would not let me go. The police arrived after the fact and found that the owner and his car were no longer there. I wouldn’t advise anyone to spend money at this establishment. There are far better owned businesses in Vancouver.
We love The French Table. The food is excellent and prepared with care. It is classic French cuisine but there is something for everyone. The environment is warm and friendly. It is quiet enough so you can hear conversations at your table. (Not like some restaurants!)
This is a wonderful place for a special meal or just when you need good food!
Thank you to Herve, the staff and the chef!

The food looked really good and I was very excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, after witnessing some concerning behaviour online regarding the owner harassing a young woman over a parking spot and preventing her from leaving the area, I am seriously reconsidering supporting a business that treats members of their community like that. Will update review to reflect the food if I do end up going.
