Cute little coffee/dessert place. Great shaved ice with speciality coffee. Though our shaved ice took a good half an hour to serve, which was a bit long for something rather small.

Both pancakes were lovely! I would say they could be fluffier, but they were still light enough for you to gobble up in 5 minutes tops. I had two pancakes, one savoury and one sweet.

Okonomiyaki Soufflé Pancake: For $21 for three pancakes, it has a steep price, but it's a once in a while treat! I thought a fluffy pancake that was on the sweeter side wouldn't pair well with the bonito flakes but I was wrong haha! The sauce balances it out well. I would have loved some textural contrast (aka smth crunchy) but honestly, it was still fine. I think that having something crunchy may not have been the chef's goal since they probably want to highlight how light, airy and soft the pancakes are, aka focusing on textural compliments instead of textural contrast.

Matcha Mochi Soufflé Pancake: The handmade matcha sauce was strong and not too sweet (my favourite part of the dish)! It had enough of the bitterness to feel like it wasn't too heavy of a dessert. It was my favourite out of the two, especially with the cream that had a hint of savouriness but still didn't sacrifice on the matcha flavour. The only gripe was the mochi was slightly frozen when I got my plate.

Restaurant was fairly empty when I came in since I came at opening hours on a weekday. The tables were slightly small so make sure to not accidentally elbow another customer haha! Service was nothing special and kept to themselves most of the time, but they were prompt in coming over whenever I needed refills of water.

Overall the restaurant was okay. Very busy and limited place to sit. Reservations are a must. Coffee was great! The fluffy pancakes were a little underwhelming. The savory ones are definitely better than the sweet ones. Overall it’s okay.

It took some time to go to the table, but it's was our fault for not booked in!, and then got some sweet fluffy pancakes with sausages and Benedict eggs? Really? Is that good?.. oh well, it was worth all the wait, amazing! What a combination of flavours, and what an amazing place! Will definitely come back!

first time I came to fufu I was made aware pf two things.
First, getting a reservation is most preferred, they are always packed (which honestly is deserved).
Second, I was definitely going to come back.

since then about 1 and a half or two years ago my wife and I come at least every other month (Vancouver is expensive man). there is nothing I've gotten in fufu that i haven't liked and every plate looks just as amazing as it tastes.
always just the right amount of food, their coffee is also great! wide variety and everything is delicious. definitely recommended, it is in the google maps list of loved places I share to anyone who visits us from abroad!

Love this place, the drinks and pancakes never disappoint! A little pricey but good portions and quality flavors. I do recommend calling to make a reservation during weekends.

Tiramisu souffle pancake - Looks really good in the picture for your social media. Really good the first few bites of the stack but then the stack fell apart (maybe from skill issue) and the eggy flavor of the individual pancakes overpowered everything. I ended up chasing the pancake with bites of ice cream.

The cafe is kind of interesting where you have to be seated by the server like in a restaurant with a host and then they bring you water. They also bring you your food. I'm more used to dessert cafes where you seat yourself, help yourself to the available water, order at the counter, and then grab the food and bring it to the seat yourself.

I have made 2 trips to Fufú Café so far, and while I have really enjoyed the pancakes, I am unsure if I will make another visit due to the attitudes of the employees.

When it comes to their food, Fufú does great- I’ve tried their (past) Summer Special, the Strawberry Cheesecake Soufflé Pancake🍓🥞, which was delightful. The pancakes were soft and fluffy, the cheese cream was absolutely delicious and went amazingly with the dish, the ice cream was perfect, and the strawberries were sweet. The Seasonal Special Mango Daifuku Soufflé Pancake 🥭🥞 was also quite good, though the mango on the side was a little difficult to eat. Overall, there were hardly any complaints to be held with the food. If you don’t mind waiting 45 minutes for the pancakes to come out, as they need time to prepare them, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your dishes!! 🤍 Things aren’t the cheapest here, but I think for a special once-in-a-while treat and the quality, it’s worth it!

What you might not enjoy, however, is the service provided by the employees, in particular the front of house. Upon arrival, me and my sister stood at the door for several minutes before an employee asked if we had a reservation. While I usually don’t nitpick, as I sympathize that hospitality jobs are stressful/tiring, the employee didn’t offer a “hello” and seemed slightly irritated by our arrival, as her tone was unwelcoming and flat. I realize that not having a reservation may be annoying for the employees, but the attitude received seemed disproportionate and unjustified. For the rest of the visit, attitudes from employees continued to be either neutral or slightly negative.

The second time me and my sister went to Fufú, we were greeted by the same annoyed/dismissive tone. Furthermore, a couple moments after we were seated, we were asked to return to waiting in line, as that table was actually reserved. We understand that mistakes happen and I appreciated the apology given by the waitress, but for that to occur after 10(+) minutes of waiting, feeling relatively unwelcome, and not seeing anybody show up to take the reserved table- it left a bad taste. We ended up eating somewhere else for the day.

So, I strongly encourage everybody to make reservations!! As the Café is on the smaller side, waiting for a table to open up means you’ll be standing in a corner right by the door. Also, I’d strongly recommend AGAINST going here with a large group (3+), unless you’ve made a reservation prior! The dining space is not that big, and while there are both booth/table and bar/window options for seating, it’s likely that you’ll end up waiting for quite a while if you have a large party. The decor and interior is pleasing and pretty, but at the end of the day, it’s still a small space.

Maybe someday, I’ll return again- I’d truly like to, as I loved the pancakes so much! But for now, I’m content with going to other places in Vancouver.

The food here is amazing. The pancakes are incredibly fluffy and delicious—I especially love the ones with chocolate and strawberries. For something savory, the Omakase is my go-to. The only downside is that it gets very busy, and the wait times can be long, so I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The staff is friendly, and the space is beautifully designed, though it can get a bit loud if you're seated near the kitchen.

Our 1st experience wasn't good at this place . We ordered 2 pancakes - Tiramisu, and egg Benedict with salmon, both were mediocre taste, ours wasn't even cooked properly- we have to take out aside raw part of our souffle pancake. We won't recommend to anyone. :( their coffee was good though.
