World's thinnest (because they slice them in half, and charge full price.) stale banana and lemon loaf for 4.25$

Mean staff and store managers, bad coffee, if a coffee shop can't even make an Americano, I think it should disappear from Vancouver.

The coffee is great as well as the croissants, matcha latte, Yerba mate, and banana bread. Such a bright cafe with a lots natural light, plenty of seating, and friendly staff. One of my favourite cafes in the city.

*** yeah that actually makes it worse cuz your girl had the spelt one beside the gluten free one she sold me. Just saying.Either way. I prefer a normal cookie as I am semi gluten intolerant and I don’t want to eat at GF cuz I don’t want to avoid gluten to the point I’m fully intolerant.Your shop is cute but I think it needs livening up a little.Don't get me wrong. All went well on the visit but this place just very lacking in selection overall. I felt the menu was a little too small. The location is a tad out of nowhere the whole area not a single and then bam there's this tiny coffee shopBut the 4 choices of cookies and no original chocolate chip cookie is just way weird, and while gluten free is great , not everyone wants gluten free or actually can eat gluten free. The ingredients used to make GF actually doesn't agree with some people. They had a few wraps and sandwiches and that's it. Didn't see any of them on display like typical places. You can see the place is set up for one person to run the shop solo so I guess that's why the menu is a tad small. If there was music didn't notice it and it wasn't a cozy vibe. Slim long set up and a few tables chairs line both sides of the shop.Cookie was $4 and nothing epic about it. BREKA cookies are a lot more exciting.

The legendary Gene coffee Bar. For those who know, they know. The coffee is as great as it was decades ago and the same iconic neighbours are often found lounging around for a chat. This is what neighborhoods are made of.

This place sucks. I had a coffee from another place when I came in. I understood that I would have to get something to be able to stay in. So I bought a croissant. The croissant wasn't buttery. As well, AFTER I purchased it, the baristas told me that they have a no outside drink policy even if I bought something. She told me that she can put it off in the back and I can ask it back when I leave. Like what the hell. I purchased something to support you guys. Other coffee shops would have let me be in there if I bought something. But here don't bother going, the croissant wasn't great and the baristas were not considerate eventhough I supported their business. I just left.Would not recommend.

Came in to buy an Americano but their espresso machine had just broken down. The barista apologized and I settled for a drip coffee instead. The coffee was poured and I handed a 5$ bill, then was told that they DO NOT ACCEPT CASH. That’s all I had brought with me on this quick coffee run and the barista chose to waste the coffee rather than take my money.Really not great for business and quite a sad costumer experience.

What I got was ok for what it was but the price was crazy expensive, $6.30 for a med chai! Crazy! They should also put up a sign somewhere that says no cash.

Yuck. Rarely is there an undrinkable coffee. The cortado was awful. Burnt espresso and flat milk. Skip this place.

Overpriced garbage. I ordered a sandwich and what I got was a stale croissant with (1) shrivelled slice of turkey and a few arugula leaves. Plus all the mustard was globbed on to one side. This thing costed $9.00. I asked for a refund and the barista said "the system wasn't set up" for that. Come on Gene. You can do better than this.
