Just heard the news that Goldstone is now closed after 30 years! It wasn't the fanciest of restaurant but they did casual family Hong Kong Style Cafe right. The owner and staff will be missed by their familiar faces and welcome back greetings to me and my family. Not sure where to get the best egg tarts and cocktail buns now. Or the baked pork chop rice or Hong Kong style tea. Thank you for the wonderful and warm memories, you will be missed. I'm hoping your son will reopen somewhere soon!

I love Gold Stone. Besides the baked goods, the kitchen dishes like stir-fried beef rice noodles was really well done. The vibe was relaxed, comfy and nice. I drove by this morning to try to have breakfast, hoping that they were doing dine-in, but they looked closed. I hope you are doing well and that you will be able to re-open (if you haven't already).

Gold Stone, please don't abandon Vancouver, we need classic Hong Kong style street food and those amazing buns. No one else in town does it better than you.

Been here since the beginning... Excellent place, love it...its early/old style Hong Kong cooking style which is why I come here. Only negative (but not deal breaker) is pork chop is cheap quality and fatty. Seems like most Hong kong Cafe restaurants in the last 5-10 years use cheap pork to cut cost. What a shame...

Great service and ambience. Love the specials! Go for the pork chop if you know what's up. If you time it right to get fresh pineapple buns it's your lucky day. This is regular haunt and I love to sit and drink tea and eat snacks and while a morning away with my friends.

Love this place for their all day breakfast and pineapple bun with butter. Egg Tarts are also a must try here!

This restaurant is absolutely charming! We have never eaten Hong Kong style Chinese food before and it was different and delicous! We felt very welcome in this wonderful vintage eatery. It felt like a trip back in time. We loved everything from the excellent waitresses in their charming uniforms to the large comfy vinyl booths. Not only was the food hot, fresh and perfectly spiced, but the Hong Kong style tea was the ideal taste and temperature. The prices are also good. We loved this place! If we lived in Vancouver we would eat here often. I hope Goldstone Restaurant does not change a thing! Thank you Goldstone for such a special treat. You are the hidden gem of Chinatown!

It's okay here. Has been around for a long time so it's reliable. Food here seems to have raised the prices by quite a bit.

Very authentic Hong Kong cafe. Price was affordable. I love their milk tea, pineapple buns and baked porkchop rice.

Every time that I have gone here, the food and service are always good. This Hong Kong style cafe (cha chaan teng) is consistent and they're quick as well. My favourites include the french toast, pineapple bun with butter, baked pork chop with spaghetti and fried spaghetti with black pepper & shredded steak. ☕️

My favourite go to place for anything Canto. And the spacious dining space means never having to wait for a table. Love the banquet seating. As you can see, I'm obsessed with the beef chow mein. It's the best in town, with its crispy caramelized noodles saturated in beef gravy.

We went to this place last weekend because we didn't want to wait for 30-40 minutes at THE pineapple bun place in Richmond. I was surprised that there was no wait and plenty of seats at around 9:30am on a Sunday. The staff were friendly and attentive, unlike at some of these other HK cafes sometimes and seemed happy to be there.. we got two spam and egg ramen noodles that came on a curved dish and it was really good. I will say that the low stars is due to the egg tarts and pineapple bun. I could tell that they don't specialize in these items as the pineapple bun with butter (that's supposed to come straight out of the oven) was not that warm and just not a great bun. The egg tart was unfortunately underwhelming. We did else swing by THE place for pineapple bun and their egg tarts were to die for. We would probably go for a quick meal if we are in a hurry but not for pineapple bun or egg tart...

It was early morning and I looked for just any place opened for breakfast at that hour. I came in for an ordinary bacon-and-egg breakfast and it was OK. When I tried to pay with my credit card, the waitress said they only accept cash. I didn't have enough Canadian cash to pay for, but I had some American cash, which she accepted. I payed more than need and told her to keep the change as her tip. She apologized for the situation, even though it wasn't her fault. I know whenever I do business with the Chinese, I'm in good hands.

they made the best singapore vermicelli I've ever had. it only had like 3 shrimp but it was immensely flavourful, noodles were well seasoned, and the peppers, ham, egg, char siu and noodles were in good balance. fishballs and borscht soup very good as well

The food here was very good. The menu was a little difficult to interpret and we didn't know what we were ordering, but that is part of the fun! The buns here are excellent and highly recommended. The service wasn't great and we only saw our waitress long enough to order our food and have it delivered, but they didn't help beyond that. I did give it a lower rating because they do not accept credit cards. Cash only. There is a very tiny sign that isn't in a place you would even notice that states this. We were out of Canadian dollars, so my family had to wait while I walked up the street to use the ATM. After all the hassle, the waitress had the audacity to come up to me as I was paying and inform me that the tip was not included in the final bill and to be sure to leave one. My tip is that they should accept credit cards as most places in this modern society do so that you don't have to walk down the block to find an ATM.
