Went to try Gong Cha for the first time. My sibling in law plays FF14 and wanted the special mount so we made a trip out of it. So glad they could dial down the sweetness and ice levels for us - not all bubble tea joints are able to.
The cost wasn't as much as I expected which is nice. After tip only $20 for 3 drinks. The guys in the shop were kind enough to answer our questions cheerfully even though they probably have been hounded by FF14 players for days now.

I got the Peach green tea with the added pearls and coconut jelly and it was really refreshing even without any ice added which was nice!
I hate coming here. When they realize I don’t speak the language, it increases the price even more. Be careful, they will increase the price if they see your language is not bitter ??
I ordered a matcha milk form smoothie with 50% sugar. I realized at the first sip that the ice was too much, I couldn't even taste the matcha and any sweetness. I've been to Gongcha countless times in Korea and Canada, but never had it like this bad. I tried to explain it to the staff but she didn't even try to listen to me and kept saying because it's smoothie. She offered me to add some sweetener on it, but the taste was even worse because it was only ice and sweetener. I was trying to talk about it after all but it seems the staff was TOO busy to take care of it. I will NEVER returning to Gongcha in DT?

Got my order wrong even though I’ve repeated my order multiple times! I do admit I said my order wrong at the first place. And this is why I kept repeating myself. When I overheard them saying 30% sugar and said that i never asked for 30% sugar, they blamed me not looking at the sign and not having common sense. Basically having an argument with me. Not sure when stating sugar level became a “common sense”. It is the cashier’s responsibility to ask sugar level, but he never even asked. He just assumed it to be 30%. When I said because his English is not good and couldn’t understand me, the girl who was making bubble tea got infuriated, escalated it as a discrimination. This is a FACT that caused him to get my order wrong. This is a fact! It has nothing to do with discrimination. It’s unnecessary to be so sensitive. Funny thing is that when I got my drink, the label says 50% sugar!!! These two people basically don’t know what they are doing! When they made mistake, they first blame customer!! Then pull out discrimination card.
Stating bad English is not a discrinination! It is a fact and he needs to improve! Just to put this here: Starbucks never blame customers when they made order wrong! They just make a new one! Never going to come here again!
