It’s definitely NOT A Lebanese shawarma.
It’s Lebanese shawraba, soggy, steamed, boiled… This is not shawarma.

This place deserves a hi five. For being downtown, with exceptional frugal prices, and fresh ingredients at the salad bar, it's no wonder why people would pass on junk food. I see alot of people to corporate workers come in here, for the salad bar.
The selection at the bar is huge and when I came during lunch, there are herds of people. Grab and go, saves you time, and your saving your health. My friend loves the bar here since she works in coal harbor. Definitely a place to come to if you’re crunched for time.

I’ve been coming to this place for the past 3 years and I just realized I’ve been coming more often as the days pass.
This little spot in downtown provides you with quick premium lebanese food after a long day of work, whether it’s from the salad bar or the daily platter (my go to).
This place is family owned and you’ll meet them anytime you go there, and you’ll definitely feel the love in Wafaa’s food.
I won’t say I will be here again since I’m there 2-3 times per week already!

Green Leaf Salad Bar is one of those rare spots that immediately feels like a local secret you’re lucky to stumble upon. Tucked away on Bute Street, this family-run gem serves up some of the most authentic Lebanese flavours I’ve ever tasted!
You can taste the love and tradition in everything here. The salad bar is pristine and vibrant, full of incredibly fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s clear that attention to detail is everything to this family, and they don’t cut corners. All the dishes I have tried have been so delicious.
But what truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the experience. Wafa, the owner, is the heart of Green Leaf. Her homemade desserts and dishes are next level—absolutely mouthwatering and made from scratch by her own hands. There’s something about knowing who’s behind the food that makes it even more special. You feel like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home, not just a restaurant.
I haven’t even made it through the full menu yet, but I’m on a mission. There’s no question I’ll be working my way through every dish—if what I’ve had so far is any indication, it’s all going to be incredible.
If you’re looking for authentic Middle Eastern flavours, made with heart and hospitality, this is the place.
I was so excited to eat my food so I don’t have pictures but will update when I go next ☺️

We had a takeout chicken wrap and build your own salad from this little salad bar. The chicken is very tasty!
It can get busy during the lunch hour, but you can beat the rush if you go a little earlier before noon.
It's a family owned business and everyone is very friendly there. Got a tasting of the dessert cake, which was just the right amount of sweetness.

Short Review: Tucked away in downtown Vancouver, this 14-year-old spot is a true gem, with the owner themselves in the kitchen. Seriously, drop everything and go! You're losing precious seconds of incredible Lebanese flavors.
Long Review:
Wow... this is the most authentic Lebanese food I've found outside of Lebanon. In fact, it's as good, if not better, than what I've had there. These are the real, homemade Lebanese recipes, just like my mom makes (but better sorry mom 🫢). If you're after healthy, delicious food, this is your spot. And if you want to experience genuine Lebanese cuisine without traveling halfway across the world, this is honestly the only place (trust me, I've been places).
They feature fantastic daily specials. You notice that they prioritize quality by having a focused menu over having a huge number of items. Every dish tastes like it was made with love in a home kitchen. You'll find plenty of vegetarian choices, plus all the favorites like shawarma, falafel, and a variety of wraps.
Check the photos.

Mediterranean style foods with mostly veggie options. Lots of chickpea, hummus, and falafel, for my vegetarian family.
