First time here and wanted to try their Sable fish but wasn't on the menu even tho it was on their online menu. Went with the arctic char. It was a bit overcooked so a bit on the dry side but flavor of everything else on the plate was good. Warm vegetable salad was pretty good. For dessert we shared the sticky toffee pudding which was a bit disappointing. There was something crunchy in it like poppy seeds. The pear strudel was better. Both desserts quite sweet for my tastebuds. Overall still worth a try for their other entrees and appetizers.

Lovely mom and pop place. Prices are very reasonable, nice cozy place for a small group of 2-6. My wife and I tried the sable fish / duck and with the appetizers brie tart and mushroom salad. Wow it was very unique and they cooked it to perfection. If you are looking for a nice night out that is also budget friendly with excellent food, try this place out.

Such a great hidden gem! You can always count on a beautiful meal and excellent service at Grub! The cannelloni is definitely a favorite and I wish you'd bring back the veggie moussaka!

Phenomenal! Grub has been around for some time but I only made it over recently and was blown away by the food & service. I had the halloumi French toast; which itself was small (but you want to savour it anyways bc it’s the perfect blend of sweet and savoury!) and it comes with a salad, 2 eggs and potatoes making it a substantial brunch item. The decor is simple yet modern and the server was very friendly. Definitely coming back for dinner!

The food was excellent. One server and 2 cooks and they did a great job. The restaurant is small and was totally full of happy customers. Already recommended to a friend.

Service was abysmal, starting with a 40 minute wait for our first drinks. No one checked in on our appies or mains. Dishes took ages to clear, and we never got our waters refilled. Our mains didn’t come out the same time, and one side was burnt and had to be remade. They did comp that meal, which is why I settled on a 3 instead of a 2. The cocktails were unbalanced, gritty, and/or watery. The tagliatelle that came with the duck leg was delicious, and the onion tart was pretty good. Arctic char was great but seasonal veggies were disappointing. A few saving graces in this loud spot that we won’t soon be returning to. I will say that it seemed like they needed at least one more server, or at least a dedicated and experienced bartender on staff. It was busy.

We had a random walk in to Gtub. While our waitress might have benefitted from a deeper knowledge of the menu and wine list, we enjoyed the adventure of choosing our dishes. It did lead to us ordering more food than we could handle, but that's a testament to the intriguing options available. Our selection included the duck and Arctic char, both of which offered a delightful blend of flavors, even if they were slightly greasy.

This was a lovely, lovely dinner. This is a fantastic example of what I think Canadian cuisine (and fridges) are capable of: a concerto of cuisines and flavours. I'm so down with the experimental cross-pollination vibe of the dishes. Loved the unexpected cuisine combinations at the same time having exemplary versions of classics like scalloped potatoes. This place is for those who walk the less travelled path. I don't give reviews very often but I felt this place deserved a big shout-out and kudos.
