Food is mediocre esp the grilled black cod we ordered. The service and vibe was very good.
Large selection of food and drinks. As authentic Japanese Izakaya that you'll find in Vancouver. Prices are very reasonable and the food is tasty. Friendly staff!
We were a group of 14, they were so good and took care of us, we had a Guu time. Will always come back
We went there for dinner. The patio area was nice to chill and enjoy the outdoor, but then we found some Mickey Mouse running around as well.

Service was a little lacking cause we arrive at 5pm for happy hour and there was only 1 waiter. Although it's not busy but it's just too much for 1 person. I believe there were at least 2 more servers arrive after 6pm for dinner hours. Foods were good. We order foods from happy hour menu alone and we're too full to order anything from dinner menu.
Food quality has declined particularly in relation to the other Gu's in the area. Place was empty on a Saturday night. Their daily specials were not as good as before- so rather disappointing
Food is good probably a great spot during the sunshine. Went in the evening during the week. Menu could be a bit clearer to support new guests.
Guu - Davie is a great spot. Welcoming & chill vibe, friendly service, solid beer list, and a delicious menu. Our favorite bites are their Guuu'd Poutine, and their Scallop Battera. We recommend Guu - Davie.
The food and desserts here are absolutely delicious—truly amazing!
The service is outstanding.
Thanks, Chika!

Incredible food that came quite quickly. Weird mid 2000s middle school dance music but it was kind of a vibe. Some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. Would highly recommend checking it out (if you don't mind the weird music).

Was our first time at Guu. There were 8 of us so we decided to share a bunch of different things. We ordered a couple of battera, an oden, grilled attaka mackerel, yakisoba, karaage, truffle fries, and sake. Everything was so delicious. The only item everyone didn't agree on was the karaage. Some found it a bit greasy and heavy. But, overall, the food, service, and value was great. Would come back to try some other items....but especially the battera.
The Guu Poutine is amazing. Tastes like an Irish curry cheese chip. Ebi Mayo and Chicken Karaage were top tier

I was very surprised with my experience at Guu Davie considering the other locations on Robson St and in Gastown have always been good. The food at the Davie location was not tasty nor fresh. The sashimi was hard to swallow, the udon was lacking taste, and the sushi was not edible. The service was great and server was lovely however I will not be returning for the food.
Lives up to the Guu name. Perhaps one of the quirkier Guus but still fantastic izakaya. The cheesy udon is a can't miss.
