What a awesome japanese izakaya. This resturant opened just last year has similar vibe to guu thurlow and the menu are similar as well. Foods that you dont find in other resturant like monk liver, chicken liver. It is the place to gather with friends drink your night away.
Guu Toramasa gives the authentic Japanese food experience from the menu to the servers yelling Japanese through the whole restaurant. Appetizers are 3 for $15 so you can try a variety of dishes for a good price. Presentation of the dishes are good and there is a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to try out. Only downside was the interior was so hot during the summer as there are limited air con in the restaurant.
I tried guu for the first time this weekend and it was amazing!! The price of the portions really surprised me and were really worth it. We ordered the chicken karagee and it was delicious and probably my favourite. The takoyaki is also really good and it was only $8 for 5 pieces.
