I was next door and looking forward to eat at Momo Sushi but the Chinese girl so rude when I came in and greeted her in Japanese. From then on it was very rude no Wi-fi 20-minute wait place was crowded so I came here to Guu. Very friendly Wi-Fi they speak Japanese and the food is excellent. If you're in Waterfront in the old town Gaslight area go straight yo Guu.. NO NO on momo :)

A must-go Japanese restaurant! Great service, fun atmosphere, tasty menu with some creative dishes. Our favorite was the Salmon with 7 friends. Was also fun to read the handwritten menu in Japanese and English.

Was say beside an open window and the view of Gastown was fantastic. Also had beach oysters for $2 each. They were very good and such a good deal.
Guu Otokomae delivers the full izakaya experience: lively, friendly, and delicious. We were warmly welcomed, served quickly, and every dish was packed with flavor. Great portions, great prices, and great energy. A Vancouver gem!

I've dined here many times over the years, but this recent experience was so disappointing I won't be returning. The food was bad. Very bad. I don't know what's happened, but hopefully something in the kitchen changes soon for the better.

Hello: We had a very good experience. My Diva cocktail was delish. We had a window seat which was nice to look out over Gastown. Sashimi salad was excellent great dressing. Food came surprisingly quickly and was piping hot. We ordered the chicken Kara-age the chicken inside was super tender and outside crisp and hot. The octopus Takoyaki was great dipping sauce a delicous accompaniment. The Beef Udon (Guuu'd Yaki Udon) was good that dish could perhaps have had a stronger sauce it was quite mild tho the bonito flake gave it a great flavor. We would definately come here again!
