I’ve never had a bad meal here or experience. While I do notice some chefs are more engaging than others, I personally don’t mind the low key chefs. I’ve seen the show a hundred times at this point anyway, I come for the excellent food and service.

Worst Hibachi in my life, shef doesn't understand English, made mistake several times, served wrong food, even one item didn't serve. Food wasn't test the way it supposed to be, I wouldn't recommend this for Hibachi

if I could give it less than a star, I would. there was ZERO art form, flavor, or any interaction.
my partner and I went for his birthday. there was a group in the opposite corner watching movies on their phones talking to the staff and very loud. not customers by the way they were acting
I got food poisoning that night from seafood and spent several hours after in the washroom unwell. (I was sick 30 min after eating, in THEIR washroom; while we waited for someone to bring us the bill)
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE!! There's others in Vancouver that offer better food, service, quality for a lesser price.

I can see why there's alot of mixed reviews. Some chefs are not very sociable and don't do tricks, and some do. Also alot of people don't know that you can reserve a private room.
If you’re Cantonese, ask for chef Johnny.
He's a really nice guy and loves to talk about people, food, and life. When you reserve a private room the experience is much better imo. I'm not sure why people don't tip their chefs, but American tepanyakis you usually hand off a 5, 10, or 20 bill. I guess the inflation is squeezing people's wallets.
Food is decent, not mind blowing though. The meats and foe grais are delicious. They have live fresh seafood. I would recommend this place for date night. It’s playful and interactive. Dinner and a show.
I did come back with a reservation for a private room with family and it felt special.

They took 6 of us in with no reservation tonight and the food was wonderful. They have the best fried rice I've ever had.
All the seafood and meat with the romance dinners were very fresh.

Had an awesome experience at Gyu King Teppanyaki! The chefs were super entertaining, and the food was cooked to perfection right in front of us. The steak was tender, the seafood was fresh, and everything was full of flavor. Great spot for a fun night out with friends or family definitely recommend if you’re into teppanyaki or just want a dinner with a show!

Great meal and fantastic service. Came with my mom.
My fiance and I came up to spend some time in Seattle and figured we'd make the drive into Canada. We stopped by and had lunch here (the special for 2) and it was delicious 😋 We left full and happy. The staff was extremely nice. If you ever find yourself in the area I'd recommend this place.
Best place to have a group dinner. Killz

Utterly wonderful. We were here on our honeymoon and were the only two there for lunch, so we had the best possible view! We had the Groupon special (lobster, scallops, shrimp, salmon, and two different preparations of beef) and the value was above and beyond. I’d never heard of Usuyaki, but it was my favourite part! Neither my husband nor I had ever tried lobster, so getting to try it both in the lobster miso and from the grill, tail and claws, was really awesome. Both the chef and the host were charismatic and knowledgeable about the menu. It was a lower energy version of many teppanyaki places, which was absolutely wonderful for a special, luxurious lunch. We left stuffed and satisfied. Thank you Gyu King!
My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant with family and overseas friends for over 10 years.
Food is great, and the service has been consistently top-notch.
Most recently, I celebrated my milestone6️⃣6️⃣th🎂birthday here with close family last night.
Boss Marco was very accommodating as usual, and our Chef👨🏽🍳Harvey has never let us down.
Thank you, gentlemen, for a great dining experience👍🏻
Very nice teppanyaji, food is delicious. Good service and clean restaurant.
I came to this restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. They accepted me to bring small cakes and candles and kindly served them singing a happy birthday song! Their hospitality was amazing and I really can't thank you enough to Michael. He was always so kind and helped me so much to make my boyfriend’s birthday wonderful. The quality of food was great as their services. I highly recommend you visit here with your loved ones.
Friendly service, very tasty beef was amazing, salad was ok.
