Food is great, staff and service was only ok for non-regulars.
Very Rude Captain ( over sized guy- could not get his name ) - he spoke loudly scolding us when setting up table . He the manager tried to set the table but the chopsticks were strewn on the table for the waitress to pick them up . spoons were “thrown” on the bowl loudly
Food was poor quality They forgot to cook fish (and was over cooked) and then the soy sauce chicken tasted more like caramel dipped chicken. Excuses for poor service - too busy so Kitchen forgot to prep the fresh fish !!
Had to remind them few times . Imagine all the food- 6 dishes only finally served in about 1 hour 20 minutes for 7 diners . 4 dishes served ok within 40 minutes - then waited another 20 minutes for steam fish and then waited another 20 minutes for the chicken !
they added gratuity based on their pre set amount although service was so poor . If one Pay by credit card they will add another 5% . It is a rip off restaurant . Such poor service they demanded 15% service .
Only compliment was one lady server tried her very best to make up whatever went wrong . For her it was 5 star. She tried but even the manager was bullying her !
Will never come back . There are hundreds of options for good quality Chinese Restaurants in Vancouver/ Richmond/ Burnaby to choose from . Evening spoilt by very poor food and restaurant service!
Vancouver health should visit this restaurant for poor handling of cutleries / chopsticks and spoon . Most unhygienic handling ( excuse - very busy )

You make a reservation. You arrive early at the scheduled reservation time, you still don’t get the table. You still have to wait over 30 minutes because they let everyone linger even when they are done. Terrible organization skills

Newly renovated and fast service. Choices have changed on the menu so recommend taking a look before checking it out if you haven’t been in a while.

Called to inquire the crab special before heading there. Was misinformed. All the old each day of the week special are gone.

Great experience at renovated restaurant. Enjoyed lemon meat triangles and noodles. Street parking a block down. Came again with friends and enjoyed same dishes. Also shrimp tart and spring rolls. Beef short ribs a bit chewy. Back again and enjoyed lemon meat triangles and noodle dishes. Had vermicelli with bitter melon, beef and black bean sauce. Came and enjoyed everything including lemon triangle and noodles. Halibut did not have much meat though

The dim sum is good but our table is rocking. We have to ask 3 times for adding water.
Recently went back to Haiyi for dim sum after they renovated. The space feels cleaner and roomier compared to before. A good selection of dim sum items. Service is decent. We were seated quickly with a reservation. Only downside to the place is their limited parking.

The food was mid. A bit on the pricey side and the other tables was so loud you can’t even hear what other people was saying.
Price raised a lot for dinner menu after the renovation. Quite expensive in that area.
Recently renovated and looks like the staff is new. Good dim sum when I went with friends.
Newly renovated. Completely new set of staff with subpar service. No more discounts like before either.
Honestly the food isn't taste good and the service is really mediocre to impatient, very typical: welcoming to the frequent senior clients, cold to new faces, especially when you didn't order a lot. the recent renovation didnt make the restaurant better, on the contrary, it feels less cozy than before.
