I was really not impressed with my visit here in May 2025. It was even more upsetting that my experience wasn’t better because it was the very first time I dined at a Filipino restaurant (but it was not the first time I had Filipino food).
Firstly, when I entered the restaurant, I wasn’t greeted and although there were at least two servers going about, neither of them made eye contact with me. I was confused whether to sit down or order at the till, since it was my first time there, so I stood in front of the till to get their attention. There were around three occupied tables but it wasn’t terribly busy. My partner seated himself at a table while I continued to stand in front of the till to order.
I don’t mind waiting to order, even for half an hour if a restaurant is busy. What I do mind is if I’m not given any notice or status by the staff on the wait time or when they’ll take my order. I was ignored while I stood there for what seemed like 10 minutes while the servers talked to each other or handed out food. A simple “we’ll be with you soon” would have sufficed.
We ordered two grilled chicken bowls from their combo set menu, and received two black bowls of mostly grilled meat slices and rice. It was a good price for each (approx. $10 + tax) given the quantity and taste. The presentation was basic though. Despite being ignored when I was trying to order, the food came out quickly.
Nevertheless, the staff continued to not look at us at any point and they looked unfriendly too. I felt truly unwelcome and will never come back here.

I ordered the beef parel, but the portion felt a bit underwhelming. It was also a little too salty for my taste. The “soup” didn’t really resemble a proper soup—more like a beef stock, and unfortunately, it was quite oily. It seems to be under staff but the service is friendly.

What a gorgeous family run restaurant! Lovely homely atmosphere with friendly staff.
Ordered the crispy pata and pancit miki, both were delicious 😍 crispy pata was falling off the bone and melted in my mouth! Also had the leche flan for dessert and wow, it was so creamy❤️ Highly recommend paying a visit to Hapag, come hungry!!

This is my favorite 'go-to' Filipino resto whenever I visit Van - But I hope they can improve the resto ventilation or maybe put the garbage outside (not inside the resto) please

It’s hard to comment because it’s just a trial and I can’t judge based on my taste. After all, Vancouver is international and I can try the food but it may not suit me.
Cleanliness is important and they take great care in their operations. ?

At the Pinoy festival today they let a lot of people stay lined up for 30 minutes or more without telling you they were out of chicken inasal and bbq pork until you got to the till. Disrespectful waste of time.

Their Chicken Inasal and Pork Bbq are very good, especially when served with their garlic rice. The combo menu items are reasonably priced for lunch. Service is always good here, whether dine-in or take-out. Sometimes, I visit my Filipino friends in East Van and buy an order of Pancit Miki together with 8 pcs Lumpia Shanghai and medium tray of Leche Flan and it’s a good Merienda (afternoon tea) for 4 people, all reasonably priced and delicious too. I wish they improve their dining area to look a little more inviting, so for now, I would recommend this place for take-out.
