I had a disappointing experience at this shop today.
I accidentally made a mistake with my order and went to the counter to ask. Instead of asking what I ordered, the staff member kept telling me “not ready yet” three times without checking.
On the fourth time, I told her I am online ordered , my order number is …. , then did she look at the on the counter and realized my order had already been sitting there.
There was no apology and the attitude felt dismissive and unfriendly. A simple question to confirm the order could have solved the situation quickly.
I understand if shops can be busy, not busy on that time but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and clear communication. I hope the owner can improve customer service and staff training in the future.

My family and I returned to this popular spot after a three-year hiatus, and unfortunately, the experience has declined. While the restaurant remains crowded, the service was disappointing.
Our waitress was somewhat dismissive—perhaps due to a language barrier—and failed to give us the 'early bird' set menu despite us being seated at 5:10 PM. We only discovered the special because a neighboring table (who arrived about 10mins after us) was given it. When we pointed this out, the staff was unapologetic and simply told us to order quickly before the 5:30 PM cutoff.
Between the service and the plain food, the atmosphere just wasn't the same.

Everything is ok except the price. Take out of fried rice plus lemon ice tea cost me $35+ I did not expect to pay that much for a normal take out.

Went there with some friends and service was good and food was delicious. Can't wait to go back there again. The pork chop was my all time favorite.

Happy Day Cafe is always a great place to get a HK style breakfast at a decent price - make sure you get the combos and it will fill you up for the day.
They’re super busy, so expect a bit of a wait unless you get there early. The staff is also always busy, running around, making sure food is served.
Overall, the food is decent, the portions are big, and the price is good. They only take cash or debit, so be prepared.

For what they serve, its too pricey. Always found either bugs or something inside the noodle soup. The chef are too sloppy.

First time her for dinner. It’s a little bit pricey but the portions are huge. We couldn’t even finish 1/2 of it. Fried rice was good, green bean beef good and chow mein was also very good with crispy noodles except the vegetable wasn’t good.
Overall decent quality.

When we walked in, the place was super smoky, so the vibe was kinda ruined right away for my brother’s birthday. We were really looking forward to the butter pineapple bun, but it wasn’t fresh compared to the other stores in Richmond. The soy sauce fried noodles were pretty bland, like the chef forgot the salt. We mentioned it to the cashier when we paid, and she said that next time we can request the chef to add more salt or soy source to the same dish. Honestly foodcourt does a better job.
