We did the Dine Out Vancouver option and the food was good, service excellent and the whole environment was very active and full of energy.

The reception staff were extremely busy and did not smile at all, which felt disappointing for a high-end restaurant. I arrived early and waited at the entrance, but I was told that they could not seat me until the exact reservation time and was casually suggested to “walk around the hotel” instead. Even after returning at the scheduled time, I was kept waiting for another 10 minutes. I was also shocked to see my long coat being dragged on the floor when it was taken for storage, and it ended up getting dirty. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a much higher standard of care and professionalism at the reception. What made it more disappointing was the clear difference in attitude toward Asian guests compared to guests of other ethnicities. That said, the food itself was excellent. While it was slightly on the salty side and not very filling, the quality and taste were outstanding. In addition, the older female server who took care of our table was wonderful — kind, friendly, and truly professional. She significantly improved the atmosphere and made us feel welcome. Because the table service was so good, the poor experience with the reception staff stood out even more. I really hope the restaurant improves the quality of its front-of-house reception to better match the level of its cuisine.

FANTASTIC & IMPRESSIVE. My mistake “Not impressive” fantastic and expected! Love it ! Reminded me of a restaurant listing in the Netherlands call Regal it was a perfect playbook setting. Well done! Everything was detailed to perfection. The staff were so attentive and well groomed.

First visit to this icon - tried it due to the DO menu. Food was good (rillette) to outstanding carrot cake. Wonderful details like baby beetroot leaf that adorned rillette is repeated on carrot cake, which was chocked full of tasty bits like walnuts and refreshing pineapple. Zen Garden perfectly balanced sake-based drink. Food and drink will definitely have me returning. Unfortunately server was too brusque: cutting me off twice, once even just walking away while I was trying to just tell her that I was given the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu. Food runners were calm, lovely, and articulate in their service. Hostesses were friendly upon arrival and departure too.

We enjoyed a classy and delicious evening at Hawksworth last evening. Noteworthy dishes of the evening were the “kfc” cauliflower, which was an amazing combination of savory, spice and sweet, the venison with a lovely sauce including chocolate (in the best possible way) and red wine, as well as, the chicken dish. We don't typically order chicken dishes when dining at fine restaurants; I however, highly recommend it at Hawksworth. We had a lovely server named Becky who we appreciated her just the right sort of attentiveness manner. Cocktails were also quite delicious- Fusk to Dawn and Rising Sun and the Wa-hawk-a (a bit more boozy, still delicious like a Manhattan-esqe drink).

Our experience last night was absolutely first rate. We were seated at a corner table with a view of the bar and restaurant facing Georgia Street. The food was exceptional as I had Bison Wellington and my wife had Grilled Venison, along with Brussel Sprouts and Baby Bok Choy as sides. Cocktails and red wine for dinner was perfect. The dessert topped the meal off.

We picked this restaurant for our silver wedding anniversary, largely based on a good experience we'd had dining here some years ago. I had mentioned it was a special occasion and requested a quiet table. Wow the team really went above and beyond. They found us a really nice corner table, and proceeded to give us the best evening we could have wished for. Everything from the greeting, service, food and wine was exemplary. Come here if you want to celebrate or hell come here anyway since the food and the folks are super. A couple of standouts for us were the specials where chef is flexing some serious culinary muscles. Try any of the soups, and if the venison is on the menu, just do it. The table next to us was also celebrating and so our corner was pretty jolly by the end of the evening after all sorts of coloured wines! The winelist is comprehensive and thoughtful and has a range to suit any budget. Much like the menu, you'll see some unusual things available so do put the sommelier to the test. You're in good hands. Lastly, a huge "thank you" to all the servers. Bertrand was our main man for the evening and he's a consummate professional and super-friendly. Such a good experience: we'll be back for our next anniversary or likely sooner.
