Far and away the friendliest bar you will visit. Staff are all super cool and make everyone immediately feel at ease and welcome from the kids all the way through to us old farts - 6-stars for the staff minimum. Beyond this there is a good, wide selection of beers and drinks, food is excellent, prepped and delivered with great care and attention, whole place in general is well maintained and clean. Fantastic job owners, managers and all staff you have something magical going on here, long may it continue.

I liked the size and the games, the TVs. There's no table service and the menu is quite limited. We had the nachos and it was very basic. The main problem though was their choice of music. Just this awful, obnoxious slow jazz music that was like nails on a chalkboard to me. We went somewhere else.

Some friends and I were inside having some drinks and food and went outside for a smoke, we asked the person at the door if that was ok and he said yes. Then when we came back they didn’t want to let us in because we didn’t have our IDs, we told the guy that our belongings were inside and some other friends and he kept saying that he couldn’t let us in. We had to call a friend to bring our purse and backpack to get our IDs. Meanwhile they let in two other people without even asking for their identifications. Once, I was able to get in I told the door guy that he let in two other people and what we he did to us was NOT ok, he just looked at me. Very bad experience and I don’t really want to think the he had an “issue” with my husband, me and my friend… Maybe because we don’t “look” Canadian or we weren’t caucasian… Anyways, not coming back to this bar again.

It's. So. LOUD. Every time I go to Hero's Welcome when people are there, the same thing inevitably happens: People talk louder than the music, the music gets turned up, so people raise their voices louder than the music again, and then the music gets turned up again. I thought going here on a Friday afternoon before work got out would save me from this, but I was sorely mistaken as a baseball game at the nearby stadium had just finished so the place was quickly packed to capacity. It sure would be nice to go here and not leave 40 minutes later with my ears ringing. It's not an unrealistic expectation to not have to scream at the person beside you to have a conversation at 4:30pm, especially when there's tables still on the dance floor, everyone is seated, and the music is all standard radio fare. What purpose is the music even serving in that scenario?
The food is standard bar food, the drinks are standard bar drinks. Every time I go there's bar service only, but it seems like they do table service at some point maybe. They ID everyone at the door like they are a nightclub even though they are a for-profit former legion that can't decide whether people should be wearing hats or not.
Games room is well maintained. Pay parking is limited out front but there is a decent parking lot in the rear that is not too pricey.

this place was great! the staff were awesome and the food was great they had some pretty cool offerings I was not expecting at a pub. they had a comedy show that was really funny it was BC centered but there was still lots to laugh about even being from Ontario
