First I'd like to say the shop was not open and I could smell the chocolate the door was unlocked! I say hello they say sorry we are closed ... I apologize.. about to shut the door and the owner not only invites me in but is getting ready for an event. Him and is wonderful staff not only invite me and my friend with a broken foot in while they are setting up for an event proceeds to all about our day💜 now i get home and the chocolate .. oh the chocolate.. this is 80% intense dark chocolate i picked out of the millions of flavors nom nom nom that I want to try... it was perfect not to bitter.. the perfect amount and exactly as he said creamy smooth after taste. I actually buy alot of chocolate from fancy places but this is now prob my new fav . I only tried 1 so far but I highly recommend but the only thing I would say go when they are opened lol 😆 😅 but very very impressed with this place the owner the service and the chocolate. So thank you for the excellent customer service ( while prepping for an event) and the delicious chocolate 💜 if your ever in the white rock area and you or your staff bring me chocolate cone check me out @sugar.plum.studio 💜 if you got through my review GO GET SOME CHOCOLATE or some of there other amazing goodies 😋

We haven’t been to their physical store, but tried their special hot chocolate crafted for Chinese New Year 🧧. It might not be the most delicious hot chocolate you would ever have, but we were impressed by their creativity to integrate Holy Duck Chilli Oil, which gave an aftertaste like a little kick of the heat. Such an awesome job to make Chinese ingredients confused with western ones at Chinese festivals.

Lived up to the hype! The pistachio Knafah bar and strawberry cup are worth the price and visit alone , staff are friendly and helpful. We live in Nanaimo and make a point to stop here any time we visit Vancouver. A really fun place to visit. Highly recommended!

I was extremely excited to visit this place and try the dubai strawberries until I arrived around 6 pm to walk up and realize they were closed, when on the website they are said to close at 7.

If you have not gone yet, you are missing out!! I have never tasted a better ice cream sandwich!! Double chocolate and Salted Caramel are just insanely good. Will definitely go back for more items:) Also they are very friendly!

Today I stumbled into a gem. It is the type of place that makes you happy to know it exists and you feel a little bit better about yourself for having found it. Let me explain.
I was heading to a cheese store ( les amis du fromage - which is great little place itself) in a colourful part of Hastings Street. I passed two girls sharing a delicious looking chocolatey/strawberry-y cup. I picked up my cheese surprise brown bag (so fun) and decided to look for where these girls found the treat. A few doors down it was pretty obvious - Hype Chocolate.
I was fortunate enough to meet the co-owner, Scott, who has an effervescent personality overflowing with passion for what they have created.
This place is a must visit place for a fun treat. It is not cheap, but nor should it be. The quality of every bite was remarkable. I think of it as vacation treat pricing, because it seems like something you might find strolling one of the great cities of Europe - but without the cost of the flight.
Do yourself a favour and find this place. I am happy I did.

Absolutely loved our visit to Hype Chocolate! We tried the strawberry with chocolate—so good!—and also picked up a chocolate bar to go. But what really stood out was the vibe and the customer service. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I witnessed something that truly moved me: someone came in asking for food, and instead of brushing him off, the staff treated him with kindness and dignity—helping him clean up and treating him like a person, not a problem. That kind of humanity makes a place unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!
