Poor service and they put us near the bathroom even though the place was half empty. You can get better food for cheaper somewhere else.

We had the pleasure of being served by Henry today, and we couldn’t be more satisfied. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, patient, and very professional. He kindly answered all our questions, checked in on us throughout the meal, and always served with a genuine smile. His thoughtful service made our dining experience smooth, comfortable, and truly enjoyable. Highly recommend asking for Henry if you visit!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I genuinely don’t understand how a restaurant with such poor service and disappointing food holds a Michelin star.

Service:
The evening started with the waitress spilling water all over the table, the floor, and even onto my shoes. There was no apology or effort to fix the situation. Throughout the night, service was inattentive. Despite charging $5 per person for tea, servers didn't once pour teas for us and didn’t seem to notice when we needed anything else. Dishes also did not arrive together, which left our table awkwardly waiting for each other to be served.

Food:
The duck soup was the biggest disappointment. Only one person at our table received the proper garnishes of seaweed and tofu, while the rest did not. When we pointed this out, the staff took away the soup—even the one I was still drinking and hadn’t finished—and returned with a re-made version that tasted like miso soup, not duck. The duck itself was dry and lacking in flavor, nothing like what you’d expect at a restaurant claiming Michelin recognition. Overall, the food did not arrive consistently, lacked balance, and certainly wasn’t worth the premium prices.

Overall Impression>
This restaurant feels like a complete rip-off. Between the careless service and the subpar food, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. There are countless better Chinese restaurants in the Lower Mainland offering far superior food, service, and value.

Save yourself the disappointment and please do not waste your time or money here.

This was one our favorite food experiences ever! We enjoyed the Beijing duck so much that we came back again the second night and had the tasting menu! The service was outstanding. Our server Effy and general manager Gordon took personal care of us and ensured our experience was simply amazing and special. Gordon looked after us personally on our second night for the tasting menu. He explained each dish and presented them himself. We have had some amazing food experiences but this one topped them all. Gordon even brought the chef out to meet us! Wow! So very special. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The service and hospitality were second to none. We would definitely go back again!

The food was delicious and the attention as well. We were served by Henry and he did a great job explaining the dishes, given us reccomendations and useful information. The duck was spectacular and all the food and the desserts were top quality. The restaurant is amazing and totally worth it.

We had visited this restaurant a few times before and for the first time.they refused to let us in because i was wearing casual short pants, not sports shorts shorts. But my wife was okay with short skirt. And they offered long sports pants for me to sit inside their fancy restaurant. No, thank you. Is this some kind of prejudice over man? Or they overrated them as a high end dressing code restaurant for a summer lunch? I can responsibly say there Their Peking duck was not using the type of duck they are using in China Therefore, too lean, not juicy. But they seem to have started adopting a Michelin level dress code in the casual life of vancouver. feels bizarre

2 stars overall (not Michelin-worthy).

I’ve been here nearly 20 times since pre-COVID, but unfortunately the place has been going downhill in food quality, service, and atmosphere.

The food now tastes like premium pre-made dishes rather than freshly prepared. Service is lackluster — no one checks in with a “How’s the first bite?” and they don’t bother refilling tea or water.

The atmosphere used to be much better, but even their once-famous “golden” washroom now shows signs of neglect from poor maintenance.

The Peking duck is worth trying only if you’ve never had it before. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
