My friend and I had the BEST experience at Is that French. The food was incredible, the olives are a must try (we ended up getting three orders for two people), and the overall vibe of the place was perfect. Our server Taylor was also exceptional. She was attentive, knowledgeable, fun, and all around some of the best service I’ve ever received. I have been to a number of Michelin star restaurants and Is that French might be one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you Taylor and the rest of the staff for making it such an unforgettable experience!

I ordered five dishes. Only the parfait was truly good — it was the best part of the meal. The other dishes were just average, nothing special, but still edible. However, the shrimp dish was absolutely terrible — it was so fishy that it was inedible. Despite clearly leaving food on the plates, none of the staff asked why. I won’t be coming back.

can’t recommend enough, i don’t like alcohol and don’t really experiment with new food but i still wanted to try this place out since i heard so much about it around me and it did not disappoint. our server was truly amazing Monday night and extremely knowledgeable. As a service worker girly myself i was inspired to be like that and level up in my own job only because of her:)

Had a great experience at Is That French?—a cozy wine bar and restaurant with a creative menu. I especially loved the fresh oysters and the small, well-curated portions that let you try a bit of everything. The salad was perfectly seasoned, and the pork belly was tender with a tasty sweet-and-sour dipping sauce. The only dish that didn't quite hit the mark for me was the gnocchi—it was a bit too soft and lacked texture. Overall though, I really enjoyed the meal and would love to come back to try more dishes!

Came in on a busy Friday night but the service was impeccable! Our server was very helpful with recommendations and accommodating. We don’t usually enjoy raw food but the scallops ended up being our favourite. All the food tasted like they were prepared intentionally with care. Special thanks to our red haired server for being so kind :))

We use to love this place but the last few times- the cheese fondue was very watery - we complained, they brought back still watery. Gave benefit of doubt went back - very same thing - we crossed this off our list - when it is my husband turn to cook he usually picks up from here but this time NO.,

Found this little French place in a downtown alley. Cool atmosphere, quiet and cozy! The food was just okay. It was tasty but very small portion, and it didn't really stand out. Service was friendly, and it was a good experience, but probably not something I’d go out of my way for.
