I had the clam chowder and fish & chips, and everything was absolutely incredible. The fish was perfectly crispy, and even the potato fries had a unique, slightly sour tang that I loved. But the real star was the homemade pickles! the best pickles I’ve ever had! I got extra. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Thank you!

The portions are generous, but the chowder was really weak in flavor. It tasted watered-down, like it was missing that rich, savory punch. If you actually enjoy chowder, you're better off going to Granville Island or Lonsdale in North Van. Seattle’s too far, but those local spots are much better. The staff is friendly and the vibe is good, but it does get a bit hot in the summer.

Ordered the clam chowder and fish burger. Total came to $32. For the amount of food, it was very expensive.
Clam chowder was thick but lacked clams and complexity in its taste. The fish jn the burger was nice and flaky but, flavour wise, tasted like a filet o’ fish with homemade tartar sauce.
Sysco is also their supplier so… make what you will of that.

The clam chowder was delicious! I ordered it with the bacon add-on and the lobster oil. The bacon was fresh and cut into larger chunks. Very flavourful chowder, and the portion was a good size for being chowder- very filling.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, with excellent customer service. The fries were amazing as well, they said they use a salt and vinegar style seasoning, which really stood out. I also enjoyed the apple slaw. The fish was nice and crispy.

Lovely people running the restaurant and they are super kind. I enjoyed the fish and salt n vinegar fries. I wish I could eat the clam chowder without bacon in it, however as a pescatarian I can find other things I like on the menu.

Jack’s Chowder on Fraser Street is such a great find. The chowder was rich, creamy, and packed with flavour — you can tell it’s made fresh. The fish & chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky inside, with a light batter that didn’t feel heavy — and an abundance of chips! The slaw with apples was fresh, crunchy, and slightly sweet, pairing perfectly with the fish.
Great service, too — friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
Only disappointed no sourdough chowder this time.
