Real hidden gem in Vancouver. Authentic Japanese homemade foods. There is only a lady on the kitchen, with a server sometimes, so please be kindly patience with your order. The microwave is for pre-prepare food for the day. If she have to cook from scratch, it will take more time than now. All the dishes are freshly made on kitchen and very reasonable, compared to other Japanese restaurants.

Recently tried the udon lunch special with a onigiri. It’s good, simple and tasty. I’ve had the shrimp and mayo onigiri and flaky salmon ones and they are my favourite onigiris.

The menu is not at all what you’d typically expect from a Japanese restaurant in Vancouver: everything about it is exactly what you’d expect if you were visiting a teenie tiny Mom & Pop restaurant in Japan. There’s a wide variety of menu items, but some of my faves are the Salmon-Bento and their simply perfect Onigiri, both of which fill me with nostalgia for Japan. (Side note: I truly wish Onigiri was as ubiquitous in Canada as it is in Japan. Let’s correct this!) :-D

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I went to in Vancouver. It is a very traditional Japanese store. Their food was amazing, the seasoning and the freshness of the food were perfect. The price is friendly ( under 18$). The atmosphere is a traditional Japanese home style. I will definitely come back .

Just go with your heart when ordering. I got the tempura udon which was amazing. Paired that with a pork and beancurd and I think quail eggs. It was so good. And of course I had to try the potato salad. Always get the potato salad!
