Space is quite limited, but the interior is very nice, clean and cozy. The staff are super nice and accommodating!
We did have a long wait for the food but they did NOT disappoint! We got the hamburger steak set, chicken curry udon and two onigiris, everything checked all the points! Chicken was very soft, seasoning for everything was tasty, it felt exactly like a homemade meal!
We will definitely return

My friend showed me this place and I love going here When I need a pick me up meal or when I need to pick up a meal and I'm too lazy to cook. The wait time can be long but its completely understandable since its all hand made infornt of you by 1 lovely lady. If you need a nice soft drink and dont want bubble tea go here and get the Yuzu soda I don't know where you can buy it besides here and its delicious

Service is very friendly and helpful, but wait time can be very long due to very few seats and very few workers. Flavors are decent. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

when can u ever find food in vancouver for like less than 20$ after tax and tip?! while u can find it here u cant expect it to be good...
their rice balls were NOT SEASONED FOR SOME REASON but the filling ratios were acceptable!! their salmon tasted kinda dry but their tuna mayo just tastes like what it sounds like. their chicken skewer just tasted like chicken with teriyaki sauce so it was just boring but edible ig
as a coffee hater i was surprised by their drink tho, cuz it tasted pre good but its too sweet
overall 2.8/5

This is a very cute and authentic little spot with a surprisingly large selection of everything from appies and smaller bites to set meals. All of the food seems to be made fresh. There was a nourishing home-cooked element to every dish I tried. The ten zaru soba was incredible with different flavor profiles depending on what you add to the sauce throughout eating it. Onigiri was warm and tasty. The genmaicha matcha came with a whole teapot full, which was a nice surprise. The ocha mochi was the perfect ending with rich matcha ice cream, sweet adzuki beans, and soft and bouncy little mochi balls. The server and chef were very friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy. I'm excited to go back and try more dishes!

Restaurantji Recommends
Google Maps asks us to rate Food, Service, and Atmosphere, but fails to check on value, which is a 5+. The atmosphere is what is is: small busy Japanese restaurant without pretensions to grandeur, like thousands of similar restaurants in Japan. There was a fairly long wait to order, with only one server, so if you want to try it out maybe pick an off-hour (I don't know when that would be).
The main selling features for me are (1) a huge menu with lots of choices, including heaps of dishes I don't ordinarily see in Vancouver restaurants, (2) very reasonable prices, and (3) authenticity (and a chance for me to practice my Japanesee when ordering).

Very strange and off putting experience. The lady making the food was dismissive and rude, and the beef teriyaki was full of tough tendons and felt like scrap bits.

I recommend the rice balls! All good flavor. Not so much the cupcakes though for the price.

I can feel the authenticity of the food even though i’m not Japanese. The food is so delicious and heart-warming with very reasonable price. Highly recommend the hamburg steak and saba miso rice.
