The location, coffee, and food are just as good as other JJ Bean locations. However, the staff often seem tense and unmotivated, which affects the overall atmosphere. The washroom was also covered in graffiti and felt unhygienic.
Given the great location and well designed space, this place has a lot of potential. With some improvements in staff engagement and cleanliness, it could easily become a wonderful cafe :)

I like JJ Bean and their coffee is always solid, but this location was really slow preparing orders. I waited much longer than expected for a simple drink, even though it wasn’t very busy. The staff were friendly, but the pace definitely needs improvement — especially for people stopping by before work or on a quick break.
I hope they can speed things up, because the quality is there — it just takes too long to get your order.

Love the coffee, and honestly, the entire menu is so good! I visit multiple locations on a daily basis. However, the Metrotown location needs some management attention. The staff don’t seem to know how to approach customers who occupy multiple tables unnecessarily.
For example, on Tuesday, November 11th, there were two women with toddlers who took up two tables without needing to. They had two strollers and were using the second table to store their clothes. After I informed the staff, nothing was done — the women continued to use both tables while other customers couldn’t find a place to sit.
I recommend that management train the staff on how to handle these situations and how to speak to customers politely but effectively. The staff are very nice, but they should also consider what’s fair for all customers and what’s best for the business.

JJ Bean may be a chain, but it always feels homey and has the charm of a small local café. The service is consistently great, and the seating makes it a lovely spot to work from or just relax.
My go-to order is their yogurt with granola paired with an iced latte or chai latte. Such a perfect combo! Definitely a reliable and cozy place to stop in for both coffee and food.
