JJ Bean is my favourite cafe and I usually only order coffee, which is great. Today I ordered an extra hot hot chocolate. They had to make it three times and still couldn’t get it hot enough! Every time it was barely warm! In the end she microwaved my hot chocolate - I should not pay $5 for a microwaved drink!!! Not impressed at all - terrible service! Please train your people better!

I am a true fan of their mochas but the price gouging is unjustified. Canadians are getting a tax relief / tax break for two months and coffee was supposed to be tax free. Up until last week a small Mocha was $5.75 and the tax relief went into effect yesterday. I wanted to enjoy the tax-free mocha today but I was shocked to see the price was adjusted to $6 today. I got one last week for $5.75 + 5% gst. Where is the tax break? They increased the price and covered the taxes in it. Devious move! This needs to stop!

I had my first visit to this JJ Bean location today for an urgent meeting, and I was incredibly impressed! Both Etchos and Jack delivered top-notch service with speed, skill, and a welcoming charm that immediately put me at ease. Their courteous, efficient work ensured that everything flowed smoothly, despite the rush. The quality of their team work, along with the coffee and the atmosphere made it a perfect spot for a productive meeting. Huge thanks to both Etchos and Jack for turning a busy Sunday evening into such a positive experience—I'll definitely be back!

The service and the food is good. I took my coffee and tried to find a spot on a table between two customers. I saw the stairs to a mezzanine than tried to find a better place over there. But I just found the setting so uncomfortable.

Old Butter Croissants, dry and oily at the same time… coffee is disappointing pretty burnt. Definitely a bad experience. I don’t recommend wasting your time here

The girl started taking another person’s order before she finished with mine - I was in the middle of paying like how dismissive and rude and she decides to immediately start talking to the next person and asking for their order oh and that person happened to be a caucasian male in a suit who came in after me but no surprise employees giving better service to white males because they are so conditioned to do so ? what sucky employees meanwhile many times I’m the customer who is in line and they take all the time in the world with the customer ahead of me making small talk etc no acknowledgment whatsoever to me and very perfunctory, too once it’s my turn, no greeting or smile or pleasantness. Never has the employee start asking for my order while the person ahead of me is still paying.
And when my matcha arrives it is not even full (the cup)
Other customers are pretty crap too some random middle aged white male in t-shirt and shorts steps in front of me while walking out the door and doesn’t even have the courtesy to hold it open as I’m right behind and literally cut ahead of me - just such lack of courtesy and manners in society and possibly just downright racism
