JJ Bean’s muffins are the best muffins I’ve ever had. My favorites are Chocolate Zucchini and Jalapeno & Cheddar. Their oatmeal ones are pretty good too!
[June 2025] This location recently started selling donuts, and honestly—I was so surprised! They’re very soft yet chewy. In my opinion, they’re better than Lucky’s Donuts in both the flavor and price wise. They are about $1 to $1.50 cheaper. I’m definitely heading to JJ from now on to satisfy my donut cravings! 🍩✨
I’ve tried: - Pistachio (4.5/5) - Razzle Dazzle (4/5) I was recommended this but the raspberry filling inside wasn’t to my liking but I can see why it’s popular! It’s filled with half raspberry and half custard and the custard was delicious!) - Lavender Earl Grey Donut (3.75/5) - Lemon Cream Donut (5/5) - Mango Coconut Donut (1/5) - not sure what this is. A good staple for a good cup of coffee. A good place to have a meeting between two, or it's a stop between errands. I like the room too.
Two female “baristas” couldn’t make a proper flat white coffee! I returned my coffee and asked them to make a new cup. Another barista made similar coffee very similar way, very milky, the texture was horrible, it looked like they poured warm milk to the coffee, it was bad! I was surprised to see that at JJ Bean as I love their Burrard’s branch.

The hot chocolate was very nice and the staff friendly. The sandwiches are premade so set expectations accordingly. The bacon and egg bagel I had was actually very nice and warmed well so for a premade it was solid. There’s construction on the outside but they’re still open!

When you guys have run out of sleeves, the least you could do is serve the black coffee without sleeves. I burned myself while handling my coffee and when i asked for an extra cup they told me that their cups are double walled and to use paper towels instead if needed. What is happening?

No MSG No Garlic Foodie
The best thing about this coffee shop are the two-chair seating areas along the window fronts. Those offer a relaxing area for quiet conversation while enjoying the coffee drinks. Food wise, my partner really likes the Very Berry Vegan Muffin, but because they contain banana which is high in histamine, I have stopped eating them. I love their double chocolate vegan cookie, but unfortunately, chocolate is also high in histamine. We had breakfast there today. JJ Beans offers two vegan wraps. The Umami Mushroom Breakfast Wrap contains garlic powder. So, I tried the Frankie Goes to Bollywood Wrap. It was an aggressive waker-upper and I was conscious of the Bollywood spices well into the evening. Although it tasted great, it would be a while before I am brave enough to tackle that effect again which means like all other coffee shops, there's not much I can eat here unless I want the Power Puck.
