My father and I ate at The Basic for the first time this morning. We were very impressed by the service and the food. Our waitress was wonderfully friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. We definitely have a new favorite breakfast location in Vancouver!

They have the exact hashbrowns that I like. You know the one that are odd pieces and browned to perfection. This was the an amazing breakfast. Cook the way a great dîner would do it, quick and service was excellent.

We had a great breakfast here back in August 2024. We had a standard eggs, Benedict, chorizo Benedict, French toast, Belgian waffle combo. Huge portions! The four of us could’ve shared three entrées.All were excellent. Would definitely come back again.
The Basic is so good now! I had a BLT with the best bacon, and hash browns made how they should be. The mimosa was nice too. Good strong coffee. Heather was our wonderful waiter.

Ordered breakfast for my daughter’s birthday and asked twice in my note for pancakes not to be burnt ! Well , they were burnt to the extent that we could even smell the burnt pancakes from the delivery bag . Then , when I called they were very relaxed about it and basically told me to go figure out my refund on my own without even offering a new order or a sincere apology . This was the third chance I gave this establishment and my last time ! They ruined the birthday surprise and were not even sorry about it ! I’m so so disappointed and by the way the order was not cheap ! Their food could be good if they paid attention , but their attitude is really disappointing . Done with this place for good!
