I recently visited The Basic on Main Street in Vancouver with my best friend and my two kids, and we had such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and gives off a really wholesome family vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal out. I ordered the veggie hash, which was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. The kids loved their pancakes, and my daughter was thrilled with her hot chocolate topped with whipped cream (a big hit!). Our server, Jesse, was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome throughout the meal.
Overall, great food, great service, and great vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

My father and I ate at The Basic for the first time this morning. We were very impressed by the service and the food. Our waitress was wonderfully friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. We definitely have a new favorite breakfast location in Vancouver!

They have the exact hashbrowns that I like. You know the one that are odd pieces and browned to perfection. This was the an amazing breakfast. Cook the way a great dîner would do it, quick and service was excellent.
