I recently visited The Basic on Main Street in Vancouver with my best friend and my two kids, and we had such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and gives off a really wholesome family vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal out. I ordered the veggie hash, which was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. Great classic breakfast diner vibes. Really nice servers (especially Heather) and great food. I got a Orange Pekoe tea and The Mess. Lots of food so definitely worth the price imo :)

My father and I ate at The Basic for the first time this morning. We were very impressed by the service and the food. Our waitress was wonderfully friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. We definitely have a new favorite breakfast location in Vancouver!
