Small Chinese-owned Japanese/Korean spot tucked away on Oak St. and W 15th Ave. Decided to warm up with their Doenjang Soup, a comforting Korean soybean paste broth with thin beef slices and zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and so much tofu. Simple and decent. Finished with their 3 Small Taiyaki, and they weren’t joking about the size, tiny but delicious. Crispy on the outside and generously filled with red bean. Honestly, I could’ve eaten more of these.

Joon’s Kitchen is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we tried had that perfect balance of taste and presentation, showing real care and passion in the cooking.

On top of the great food, the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and their hospitality added so much to the experience.

Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or a special gathering, Joon’s Kitchen is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!

This was my first visit, so I cannot evaluate the entire menu, but I tried three dishes: tofu soup, black noodles, and Japanese curry. The tofu soup had too much MSG and the taste did not come together well, very old fashion. The black noodles seemed to be made with frozen noodles that were not fully defrosted, and the texture and sauce did not capture the authentic style of Korean-Chinese black noodles. Especially, the sauce was too sticky. The Japanese curry was better than the other two dishes, but even here, the meaning and style of “Donburi” seemed misunderstood. Overall, I felt the food lacked seriousness and authenticity, as each dish should carry the essence of its traditional flavor, which I could not find here. If I were a friend of the owner,, I would tell the owner to only cook the dishes you are really good at, reduce the number of menu.

Wow! We had a great meal here at Joon's Kitchen. We ordered a tonne of food for the table. The standouts for me are definately the Korean Tacos and the Sweet spicy/sweet soy fried chicken. These were just delicious. We also ordered Bibimbap (beef, chicken and veggie). These too were just amazing! California Roll and Unagi were also on point. Korean ribs would have better BBQ'd and were too fatty. But, that's always a risk when you order them. Overall, a great little Korean gem of a restaurant! Thanks for the wonderful food and friendly service.

Thrilled to have this local spot! Look out for their hours as they’re not quite standard but if you can get past that, I would highly recco this establishment! (The Korean tacos and fried chicken on happy hour are a standout)!

I understand you may be annoyed at customers coming in at 8:27, and I did see you give a look to the pair that came in just before me as you announced to them you close at 9. But if you’re going to hand the menu on the table in a rather rude manner I’d much prefer you to just tell me that you’re not taking orders and to ask me to come back another time.
