Don’t get me wrong, I love her almond croissant. I ordered quite a few of pastries. I asked for separate bag each for my order, and she wanted to charge me for one big bag to carry all my $60 worth of pastries. Haha! Her comment turned me off when she said she already used a lot of single bags for my order. 8 pieces of single bag in total. 5 star for food but 0 star for service. She just lose another customer. Plus she doesn’t have the person who makes amazing empanadas anymore.

Amazing sandwiches and croissants!! I’m always on the hunt for flaky, buttery ham & cheese croissants and theirs was sooo good. Also tried the chicken sandwich on sourdough - the bread was amazing and they were super generous with their fillings. Will definitely be back!

Picked up the Almond Croissant Crown for the croissant crawl and was pretty fantastic. Talked to the owner and said she uses Irish butter so can really taste it in the layers. Only problem is that you can’t finish it in one sitting (if that was ever a problem. Totally coming back.

I've been a huge fan of this bakery since it opened. Their croissants were on par with any that I've eaten in France. I've never bought bread here but have tried just about everything else and found it delightful. In my opinion this was (yes, was) one of the best bakeries in Vancouver. Their food was expensive but worth every penny. The quality of ingredients was top notch and everything was baked to perfection. Recently I was mildly alarmed when I brought a box of assorted items home. Everything looked as it always had behind the glass but was lacking the flavour and quality that I had come to expect. I assumed that the baker had just had a bad day. Today I purchased a sixty dollar box of pastries and they were all dreadful; underbaked, with what tasted like cheap and inferior butter, nasty tasting fillings, and croissants (my measure of a baker) that were misshapen and inferior to those sold at Costco. I suspect that the new owners have cut corners on ingredients, changed some of the formulas, and generally shit the bed, while still charging prices only suitable for the sublime product that was once unquestionable. I am very, very disappointed. I have recommended this place to everyone I know who appreciates good baking and I now have to walk that back. The pastries that I bought today were crap. It hurts to say this but I will never, ever go back to Karen's. I've only added one star to my review because zero, and preferably negative five stars are not options on this platform.

The pastry was so old, and stale I could have used the blueberry one as a hockey puck. No wonder you hummed, and hawed and stalled before placing it in the box; you knew you shouldnt sell the old stuff should have been thrown out long ago. SHAME ON YOU!Karen's dreamy is a nightmare!

Very nice neighbourhood bakery. Only been here a few times, but everything has always been fresh.I’m not sure if the bread pudding is a new item, but I will say this was quite disappointing. Perhaps it’s personal preference, but I usually expect it to have some custard component and be moist. The bread pudding from here wasn’t super moist, and just seemed like a way to use leftover bread. With that being said, I’d still recommend giving them a visit, just not their bread pudding unless you like it on the drier side.

Tried the spinach & tomato danish, as well as the blueberry cheesecake danish. Both were fantastic! My only regret is living 2000km away

Was passing by in the area here, I bought the empanadas here and they were truly disgusting, worse than old 7-11 food dried out and tasteless with barely any filling, I was shocked they would be even selling it. It wasn't even reasonably priced. Where are all these 5-star reviews coming from, are they fake reviews? I definitely will never come back to this place again, I feel ripped off.

I stopped by for a bite after an ICBC appointment. Delicious empanadas and cinnamon bun. I lived in Europe for 8 years and the cinnamon bun is the European style flaky pastry cinnamon bun and just as good too!
