Super budget dine in or take out. It ain't pretty but the food tastes very good. Dollar value for this place is excellent! Good selection of dishes on offer and constantly being replenished. Remember to take a number from the dispenser or you'll be waiting for a long time!UPDATE July 2023: Sadly, this branch of Kent’s Kitchen is now closed with only the one on Victoria Drive in East Vancouver that remains open. New operation here called Tato’s Kitchen…..

It's back under a new name, Tato's Kitchen. Same stuff from what I can tell.Server is super friendly, I went here after work at 6pm and got 2 combos which fed 4 people. One combo is $12, she gave me 2 for $20!They stack those takeout containers absolutely full, she took out some rice to pile on more of the toppings which I really appreciated and gave me a half and half topping which was supposed to be extra for free! This place will continue to be a treat I bring home after a long workday.

This place has been a staple in Chinatown for many, many years and is now officially closing its doors. It’s CASH ONLY so be sure to bring cash, I’m certain the Victoria one is the same. They don’t expect a tip, and give back exact change. As many have said, portions are massive! You get your moneys worth in terms of quantity. There isn’t anywhere to sit so you have to take things away. It’s similar to some of the food you’ll get a food court, but just more plentiful.Sad to see them go, but it’s been a hell of a ride!

A humble Chinese takeaway joint with lots of options. But, the service was mediocre and it was difficult trying to understand the staff when I was in there during a busy lunch rush. Decent value, but the food was average.

I don't come here much, but the few times I do, bang for your buck is high. I looked around today and there's certainly going to be a lot of issues coming in the neighborhood. More than a handful of seniors waiting to grab their food, and another handful of encampment-types waiting their turn... Out of 12-15 ppl in the lineup were 2 office-type workers plus myself. A lot of people on tight incomes will be pretty hungry after this month. Truly an institution.

I didn't come here all that often personally but I had relatives who bought here frequently. They would always get the chow mein, which was always good. Sad to see a 30% rent increase shutter this long-time Chinatown staple.

Great value, the staff seemed so at ease despite how many customers they have to get through, I thought it would feel much more rushed. Really sad that it's closing :(

Sad to see this place go but probably one of the best values for food in the city. Staff are insanely efficient given the chaos of customers. Be sure to visit their other location!

Used to get lunch take out often and am sorry to hear of their closing at the end of April. However, I decided to pick up some dinner after work and it was not good after 5pm. Only steamed rice left. The spicey chicken was black bean with any bone left in. The coated fried halibut and other fish were getting a bit strong tasting and dried out plus they charged two dollars more for that. Not worth it. May go back for lunch only and hesitating on that! Disappointed!!!

this is actually my first time going because I often went to Hon's. their short ribs and grilled egg plant are so good. amazing stuff. its good even when cold too. I had enough food for two days. hope one day it opens again in Chinatown. good bye.

One of the greatest spots in Chinatown that has really good food at a great price. I'm definitely coming back next week until it's gone.

The only cafeteria style smorgasbord restaurant that closes at 6pm but also has virtually no selection of dishes to choose from at 4pm. I can't figure out WHY this restaurant is imminently planning their permanent closureVegetarian options: No meat dishes available at 4:15

The cheapest Chinese foods I've ever had so far in Vancouver. Decent large portion. Two items with rice or noodles is about $7-8 dollars. Food quality is good. But they accept cash only! Still highly recommended this place.

Place is literally a hole in the wall and the food is greasy if your not into that but it's always tasty, consistent and very affordable. If your looking for grab and go Chinese this place as been a main stay for decades. You'd be hard pressed to find somewhere better.
