Owner changed, bad taste, smaller portion, and karage is all batter no meat
Great Korean dining
-Absolute magnificent interior design
-Menu with great range
-Tasty broth and bowls with generous portions bowl portions
-Absolutely reasonable pricing
-One of the better aburi pork I’ve eaten, not too thin, creamy and fitting smell
-Big green onion chunks
-The noodles are also delicious, slightly thick (in my opinion) and chew
-all in all a unique restaurant; would 100% recommend
Love the Mazesoba here! Sooo good.
Very nice and cozy ramen place just around the corner. They offer a selection of ramen, drinks, and desserts. The server was friendly—there was only one working at the time. Great spot for a quick and cozy meal.
Food was good. Quick and tasty. Will visit again with my family.
Great food, awesome service, and really nice location!
Highly recommend it!
Dined the other evening and their portion had significantly shrunk compared to when I went few months ago especially the proteins. Such a shame!

There's a tablet where your order food and call your server for water refill/bill etc.
The service was great from the servers.
It's not very busy at the restaurant so the environment is quite comfortable.
The food was not as flavorful as we like. They are having a promo now that it's free to upgrade your size to XL - that means, more noodles! We were full afterwards but the mazesoba was a bit too oily and salty to our taste. The deep fried pork chop was a bit too dry. The noodles are good and chewy in general.

Restaurantji Recommends
They recently updated the menu and removed the XXL size upgrade. Now it’s only R and XL.
Also, I ordered XL and it seemed way smaller than it used to be.
I love food here, staff are so friendly !! If you want to get authentic Japanese food, highly recommend Kokoro !

The food is good and it’s a nice restaurant to sit in. We ordered one ramen and 2 mazesobas. But there were some issues with our experience:
- it took 45 mins to get 3 bowls of noodles. They weren’t even full — there were a few empty tables and no one was waiting at the door for a table
- their XL size is smaller than the location at Metrotown/station square
- we asked for a recommendation of mazesoba that was not spicy at all as we have young kids. BOTH recommendations were spicy!! One was a little spicy and the other was quite spicy! The kids could not eat it, and I had trouble with the one that was more spicy.
Unfortunately no one wants to wait for a long time for food they cannot eat.

My first time here was during their grand opening week and the food/service was really good, however things changed quite a bit after my 4th visit to the restaurant.
The first thing my partner and I noticed was the smaller portion size of the bowls and missing ingredients as compared to when they first opened. My partner usually orders the Salmon Avacado Maezoba, but from our last visit we noticed they stopped including the Avacados to the bowl. There was no notice on the menu, and the server did not inform us of the change.
The second thing we noticed was the taste and quality of the food. We felt like the taste was never consistent during each time of our visit. Certain days we felt like the food was overly salty and difficult to finish, while other days the Maezoba bowls were quite bland and boring. Also, in some instances the Maezoba bowls were a bit too dry.
The third noticeable change was the quality of service. During the first few months after they first opened the servers were attentive and quick to respond with each request, however that has declined significantly as service was no where to be found.
In conclusion, I would recommend visiting a different restaurant within the area as this Kokoro location has “missed the mark”.
