Pre-ordered their roasted suckling pig combo for takeout 2 days ahead.
We went there when they opened at 5 pm and we couldn't get our food after 50 minutes later.
The pig and fry chicken are not as we expected. Pig is more like a medium-sized pig, and skin is not sesame skinned.
Fried chicken is more like you can buy from the supermarket.
Authentic & delicious

Disgusting place and rude front staff. Take your money elsewhere. If I could, I would give this place zero stars.
You can never go wrong with their chicken appetizer that has pickled veggies and jelly fish + pekin duck combos. Those two options are all the good worth mentioning. It pains me to follow this up with disappointment.
As a result of how busy they are and their greatest downfall is that dinner service is quite slow, expect to dine nearly 2-3 hours due to dishes coming out of the kitchen at a slow pace. I think the quality of the other dishes have gone down dramatically over the last 3-4 years and lack consistency. The desert pudding was probably the most disappointing. You may need to call in and book it in advance and it is as of recent just flavorless and lacks ingredients that give it texture and body. It comes served on a aluminum take out tin, if you’re dining below 6 people…I know this because looking at tables 8+ got theirs served in a nice glass baking dish. yeah I’ll that just speak for itself…
Do not expect your plates to be swapped or calling for a server to come running to you at a wave of a hand. They’ll come by to take your empty dishes and top up your tea but that’s about it. However, owners and workers are friendly. They are not rude or unfriendly, which is expected as the bare minimum.
I will be back! …in a few years
We went for dim sum!
Love that proportions are in five pieces instead of the usual for. The prices are the same as some other places and a little bit cheaper as well. Really enjoyed the food and the service was awesome
I have driven by Koon Bo many times over the years and decided to have Dim Sum there with Mum and Pops. Service was friendly as the restaurant was not overly busy on a weekday. Ordering was very typical these days by marking off a checklist and handing it to the serving staff. We found the portion sizes decent but the seasoning varied from dish to dish. The pan fried daikon radish cake and the shui mai were very salty while the rice rolls were on the bland side. There was no charge for the tea and we did receive a promotional 12% discount off the bill. It was an okay Dim Sum.
Friends gathered together, and there happened to be this special "Taishan Eel Claypot Rice set for us to choose from. It's so delicious and perfect for takeout. Highly Recommended.

Very poor service. We went for lunch as a party of 3 on a weekday. The restaurant was almost empty but the servers did not even come to our table once to refill our water and tea. At last we paid a bit more than 10% tips, but the servers approached us and insisted for us to give them 12% instead. The servers were impolite and rude but we still gave in.
Other than the bad service, the food was below average and we could tell it was frozen food. Will definitely not go back again or recommend this restaurant.
The service was extremely poor. The three of us went to have lunch on a weekday afternoon. There were only two tables of customers in the restaurant, but the waiter never came to refill our water. We tipped 10%, but the waiter chased us and asked us to tip 12%. The quality of the food is also not good, it looks like frozen snacks. We will definitely not go back to this restaurant or recommend it to others.

Tucked in a tiny corner mall in SE Van is this authentic Cantonese/ chinese restaurant. With its unassuming and humble front door, the food is surprisingly authentic and delicious! Prices are average for their portion sizes. The 2 noodle dishes I got (dry-fried beef rice noodle and Singapore style vermicelli) have strong wok flavor ("wok hei"). Their baked tapioca pudding is made when ordered, so it takes time, but it's to die for! Apparently, they also have dim sum during lunch, so I'll try it next time! All in all, surprisingly good authentic flavors, super friendly staff, and convenient!
Parking: Limited spots in the parking lot.

We went with 5 friends and the two of us. We had a feast with shredded chicken salad, duck two ways, chicken roasted, shrimp (not for me), fish and rice. We ended with an unusual bean soup dessert that I couldn't finish.

Koon Bo is a fairly long established Chinese restaurant on Fraser in a tiny strip mall. It's been about 10 years since we last visited and I'll admit that the interior decor looks better than it did during our last visit. A lot of things that haven't changed: the parking lot is small and busy, service is on the slow side, food is pretty spot on.
We ordered their taro dumplings ($9.2) - this was actually the last dish to be delivered to the table but it was quite good. They have a good taro to filling ratio.
Also ordered their rice rolls with crispy bean curd sheets and fish paste ($10). The bean curd sheets are very crispy/crunchy. The best pieces are the inner ones because the outer pieces have a bit too much crunch.
They make a good steamed bean curd wraps with pork and shrimp ($8.9). I liked their filling and sauce on this fish.
Their scallop and prawn dumpling ($9.7) had the filling bursting through the wrapper and it was difficult to pick up without it falling apart.
The crispy vermicelli with picked veggies and young ginger ($29.45) was a huge dish. Lots of crispy vermicelli on both the bottom and top - it's best to mix it all up with the sauce.
Dim sum was 20% off before 11am when we visited on a weekday.

We are often repeat customers for restaurants that offer good food and good service.
The Koon Bo restaurant is such a restaurant where they offer both Dim Sum. Lunch and Dinner selections.
All dishes are freshly made once you place the order.
Some of their tasty dishes include the following:
Crispy vermicelli with beef, pickled veggie and young ginger.
Roasted pigeon (squab) (strongly suggest to pre-order as there is a limited daily supply).
Deep fried sesame balls with black sesame custard.
Steamed rice rolls with dried shrimp.
Steamed shrimp paste with fish maw.
Suki is outstandingly helpful, accommodating, and pleasant to ensure your dining experience is optimal and satisfying.
There are a limited number of parking spots in the strip mall.
However, street parking is always available nearby.

Tasty authentic Chinese food. Good clean Chinese restraint atmosphere. Food was very expensive for what you get though.
