Went during late lunch in the afternoon for taco Tuesday, all day happy hour no crowds and the food is decent
Solid Mexican food place with great service and a nice atmosphere. More of a sit down place than a lot of the taco shops in the area where you're in and out quickly. And a much wider range of Mexican than just tacos. Been here many times, will keep repeating.

Although the service was attentive, the food was a disappointment. The chips that were served with the guacamole and salsa were stale. The taquitos were cold and the chicken was in chunks versus the shredded. Flavors were okay. I would not recommend this restaurant with so many other choices in Gastown.
Service with Pablo was awesome, it didn't feel intrusive and always on point.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice and colorful.
All the sides available with the specialties were awesome, positively surprised !

My go to place for straightforward Mexican food. Always delicious and they often have a special deal. The tortilla soup is good too.

I came to La Casita with a group of 9 and was greatly disappointed by the service.
After we placed our orders, the server placed salsa on each side of the long table and some chips and guac on our side without saying a word. We assumed these were complimentary, especially since salsa was provided for both sides. However, when the other side of the table didn’t receive any chips, we realized this must have been an order for someone in our group. We asked the server if she could clarify if this was someone's order, and she said she would check. 10 minutes pass and no one has updated us. We decided to get another order of chips and guac as we felt bad for eating someone else's order. We did not get an apology or acknowledgement of error despite the server placing someone's order in the middle of the table instead of directly in front of the person who ordered it.
It also took around 20 minutes for us to get our drink orders. This felt excessive as we only ordered a few beers, horchatas, and a cocktail.
When it came to paying, the server handed the first receipt to the wrong person, who handed it to the correct person. The server then proceeded to hand each receipt to same person who had to distribute the receipts to the correct person. I can understand if she did not remember who ordered what, but it is not a guest's responsibility to figure this out.
Overall, I was unhappy with my experience and do not recommend this restaurant.

Fun place, great staff, but the food wasn't as good as it's been in the past, and drinks subpar. Still had the potential to be great, but may need a little more focus on drink making to a recipe and value for money paid in food
Food was very good but took a long time. Not too busy so I don't know why. Also our waitress wasn't around enough to fulfill drink orders and then told us they had a 18% gratuity policy for groups (ours was 6) that they hadn't previously not mentioned. Will be back but recommend allotting at least 2 hours for dinner.
Food and drinks were amazing, great atmosphere too. Definitely recommended if you looking for Mexican food in Vancouver!
