This place has great atmosphere and exceptional service, however, I did not expect to be charged a $40 dollar tip from a $20 meal. I went to dine at this restaurant, and purchased a premium blend of coffee (around $200/lb). The owner included $200 in the total so I had to pay an $40 tip, when the total for my meal was only $20. I didn’t argue because I was initially shocked by this fact, and after reflecting on it, I found this practice to be unjustified and unfair. Hope this review will help future customers avoid this kind of issue.

A Hidden Gem for Coffee Lovers!
This charming coffee shop, run by a dedicated Taiwanese couple, is truly a hidden gem in the alley! Decor is kinda like the Showa-era Japanese style that creates a nostalgic atmosphere.
The owner is incredibly passionate and enthusiastically explains the unique characteristics and flavors of various coffee beans. They generously offered us a coffee tasting, allowing us to sample and discover our favorite beans.
All the coffee beans are meticulously selected and roasted by the owner, ensuring top-notch quality. As for the desserts, they are handmade by the owner's wife and are absolutely delightful. Every flavor we tried was exceptional, making this place definitely worth a visit again!

I discovered this spot a few weeks ago and came in for my first visit today. Jason (the owner) was so welcoming, and when he found out I have a passion for coffee proceeded to bond over different roast, extraction types and flavour profiles. For people who care about coffee, this is the guy to go to! Excellent options for every preference and really great service!
Cute cafe and quiet atmosphere.
Best way to spend my afternoon: great coffee, a wonderful vibe, and delicious desserts. PS: Jason(owner)’s coffee is truly amazing, he’s the expert. But their homemade desserts are just as impressive. Every flavor is unique, delicious, and beautifully made.

I came in just for a coffee and a short rest and ordered the light lunch with an Americano. I was surprised because the Americano tasted so good… I mentioned it to the owner, and he suggested I try the siphon coffee. The flavor was excellent. Even the salad dressing was impressive— it had a very rich taste and when I had the salad all I was thinking was how the owner made it 😂
The owner told me he makes everything himself. He roasts his own beans, makes his own dressings, and even the cake colors come from real food, not food coloring. I think this cafe is truly a hidden gem in Vancouver. I’ll definitely come back and can’t wait to recommend it to my friends.

I want to share my recent experience at this café, which has happened twice.
When I entered the café, the staff immediately began recommending their special black coffee. I clearly repeated several times that I only wanted a latte, but the staff continued to push the black coffee. When I insisted on ordering a latte, he reminded me about the minimum charge, and I honestly didn’t understand the purpose behind that comment.
After I finished my meal, he gave me a shot of black coffee, even though I genuinely don’t like black coffee — I only enjoy coffee with milk. Throughout the visit, the staff kept trying to chat with me, but I simply wanted to enjoy my coffee and meal quietly, on my own.
I’m not someone who enjoys talking to strangers, nor do I easily make new friends, so I prefer having my own space when visiting a café. I understand that the staff may be well-intentioned, but for me, the interaction felt a bit overwhelming — and this was already the second time.
I will think carefully before visiting again. I hope the café can understand that different customers have different needs, and some of us just want a quiet cup of coffee.

This is a charming coffee spot that feels timeless, like stepping into a black and white movie. The atmosphere is calm, perfect for slowing down and enjoying the moment.
Their syphon-made coffees are the highlight. The baristas take the time to explain the process, and you can tell they know a lot and are passionate about coffee. I highly recommend trying a single-origin coffee with the syphon method. It naturally brings out sweet, fruity notes without needing any sugar.
I tried their macadamia tart and it's great. Not the crazy amount of sweetness like most pastries in Vancouver, but just the perfect amount of sweetness to enjoy with your coffee.

We did take out as we had to run to our next appointment, otherwise this place would be ideal to have a hot beverage and dessert. I liked my flat white and my daughter enjoyed her croissant.

The hidden Gem!
As a barista, I’ve had my fair share of iced coffees, but this one completely blew my mind! Probably the best iced coffee I've ever had. The flavor was so vibrant and complex, it’s almost unbelievable how they managed to extract every single note from the bean.
Truly next level Cafe. I’ll definitely be coming back to this cafe!
