Food was just 'ok' with exception of the fried prawns. Fairly reasonable prices I guess for these days. However, it is obvious that the back of house hasn't had a deep cleaning (any cleaning?) in quite some time and the fryer oil looked like 10W30 which isn't what you want. You can taste it when something is fried in old oil and that's what you get here. In addition, a grease fire in the HVAC is likely in their future. Too bad, I am looking for a go-to Thai place but unfortunately this isn't it.

First time here:1) Ordered spring rolls - very oily.2) Pad Thai - I wanted to like it but … sub-standard… not tasty.3) A guy rolled a cleaning bucket near me while I was eating and swung his mop smelling of ammonia/fluids a few feet away from me. The server and I asked him to 'stop'. Relieved that he complied. The smell took my appetite away. His intent was not to offend but clearly he was not thinking of the customer experience.I *really* wanted to like this place and drove in the storm to visit. While the food was a disappointment, the service staff = great job.Just don't mop the floor when people are eating. It will make people uncomfortable ?Thanks

I rate this place according to its pretensions. It is a fine neighborhood Cafe. The coffee is good. So is its baking. The service is friendly and efficient. It is rarely too busy, so it is a preferred venue for conversations. Also, it is reasonably priced.I have yet to sample their dinner fare.

Did not expect the cafe is with the full kitchen of Thai food! Great place to take lunch and afternoon coffee Many seniors are visiting the cafe and for sure they are the regular customers! Great service!

This place has been around for a while and hasn't changed much. Kerrisdale has transitioned in a lot of ways but when you step in legato it feels like a time machine. The customer base is loyal and while it may seem like they have their own clique they are very welcoming of newcomers!Coffee is great value, and the sandwiches are surprisingly tasty. It may not be presented on a fancy plate but the taste is solid and almost nostalgic. The Thai food that they offer is not diner quality but definitely of great value in terms of portions and will satisfy the cravings! I recommend the curries and the noodles!Good place to get work done/ study. There is no music playing and plenty of plugs available. I usually sit there from noon (when I get a coffee, sandwich and cookies) and study til evening (when I order their Thai food for dinner).Keeping in mind, there are a few flies buzzing around as do a lot of places in the summertime, and the decor is not exactly dusted all that often. All in all, the cafe knows its target audience and sticks to it! To each their own! I personally love it and would recommend it to people who enjoy a homey atmosphere.

I had the Yellow Chicken Curry via Uber so I can't comment on ambience and service. Hardly any Chicken. Lots of potato and onions. Lacked salt and flavour. The Beef Salad was much tastier. It did have some sort of vegetable twist tie in it. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. I will try other dishes on another day in person when I'm in the area.

legato is legito, I did show up late in the day and grab a soggy sandwich from the display case before but whatever it's fresh if I actually show up in the morning, and the made to order food is always satisfies.

We ordered 2 curries, beef salad, and a pad Thai. All dishes were lacking flavour and seasoning. The pad Thai was dry and bland. We had to add our own fish sauce even then it wasn’t great. Nobody finished their food. It wasn’t bad, just boring. Would not order again.

It's about Thaime I found out about Khao Thai by Legato (KTL), another hidden gem discovered through UberEats. I had cravings for Thai food tonight, and KTL fulfilled that and more.THAI STYLE RICE CAKES ($6.95) - CHICKEN (+$1): These are not your Chinese or Korean rice cakes; they are actual deep-fried rice patties with cilantro, egg, green onions, and chicken should you opt for it. While I didn't quite taste these other ingredients (or frankly see the chicken), I was still pleasantly surprised by how tasty yet simple it was. The rice was the perfect texture, and was fried and seasoned beautifully with prik-khing (chili ginger curry paste).PAD THAI COMBO - BEEF ($15.99): This comes with two veggie spring rolls and a green salad, as well as the option to choose your spice level and protein. I chose medium and beef, and it delivered with the heat. It was so delicious and the noodles ever so springy! However, the spring rolls weren't as crunchy due to being packed together; the glass noodles inside were a nice change though from my usual spring rolls.THAI ICED TEA ($3.95): This was a larger serving than expected. It was also pretty to look at the individual layers before mixing. A solid drink - not overly sweet with the right amount of caffeine!KTL clearly surprised me in the best way possible. The dishes were all great and reasonably priced (considering it was through UberEats).

Interestingly, there are also different menus depending on the time, with even a Cafe Menu offered from 8:30am to 9:00pm should you desire a sandwich or pastry (none of which appear to be Thai-related). I most certainly will be ordering from KTL again and hope to visit in person too.

Underrated place! I've ordered here multiple times and it rarely disappoints! Their lunch combos are so worth and affordable. I've also ordered half of their lunch combos so far :)
