Outstanding Chinese Takeout – A Hidden Gem!
On July 30, 2025, my wife, mother-in-law, and I each ordered lunch from this place while in the area for an appointment. All I can say is—WOW, WOW, WOW! The food was excellent—tasty, fresh, and piping hot. This is Chinese cuisine at its best.
We live in downtown Vancouver, but we’d gladly make the trip again just to enjoy this food. The portions were incredibly generous—my wife and I each got two full meals from our orders, and my 86-year-old mother-in-law got three! We all ordered different dishes, and everything was delicious. I even requested three chicken drumlets (which were large and meaty) and was pleasantly surprised that they only charged an extra $1.50. For comparison, wings at a bar usually cost $1 each—this was fantastic value.
The thick noodles brought back memories of when I lived in Beijing 40 years ago—authentic and comforting.
Now, the place itself isn’t fancy, and there’s no indoor seating. But that’s part of its charm—this is authentic, no-frills takeout at its finest. If you want to eat your food right away, there’s a lovely spot across the street with picnic tables and umbrellas—perfect for a quick, relaxed meal.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the serving area was very clean and hygienic. There’s also a huge selection of dishes—something for everyone.
Highly recommended. This is our new go-to spot for Chinese food!

Great pricing and great food quality! 3 items with one rice is enough to feed 2 people, this restaurant has been with us for better part of the decades and I hope it will still always be with us for many more decades to come. Come support this family owned and run business!

There was a lot to choose from and the prices were great. The staff wasn’t the most welcoming there but I was impressed with the variety of foods in this place.
VALUE VALUE VALUE! You want value you get value, good food at GREAT prices I come to this place alllllllll the time. ALL the time, no joke.
The quality was disappointing. It was a mix of old food. The pork belly was tough to chew and salty. I’m not sure why they don’t carve fresh portions for customers. instead, they just add to what’s already on the tray. I wouldn’t recommend this place; there are better quality pork belly options elsewhere.
Old school vintage styled Cantonese restaurant. The city really needs to preserve these Vancouver classics and I am so glad it survived the foolishness of 2020. It’s a good sign when you see lifelong elderly customers still eating there. You won’t find another place as cheap as this one when you talking about cafeteria styled Chinese take out. Variety galore and the ingredients are fresh. Have not tried the bakery but best believe I will the next time I am in the area. Remember when this area used to be a little Chinatown. Ah the memories…
Worst service and food ever. Threw it out after 4 bites. Go anywhere else. Tastes like soggy cafeteria food. Just don't bother.
Excellent food, always fresh as huge lineups, huge turnover. Buffet - you pick & choose so you always get what you want. Chicken Skins (when available) is a bonus.
Great food! Reasonable prices!

Would not go here again.
Dropped by looking for a quick bite on a rainy day. Super fast and efficient, good food, and great prices for the portion size—met my expectations for a quick, tasty meal perfectly!
No seating inside, but there's outdoor seating across the street on nice days. I had to eat in my car cause I don't live nearby, but that's a choice I made knowingly haha. They did provide cutlery and napkins!
Cash suggested, but debit and credit available! Free street parking a street over if you're lucky!
For hot take out portions are pretty huge but it was loaded with sodium, and a lot of stuff was pretty greasy. Felt a little sick afterwards and probably drank a gallon of water.
What I liked most was how authentic the service was - glaring, yelling, and feeling like an inconvenience. So Cantonese and so nostalgic.
Everytime i said i want three items , they gave me two items. This is the 4th times
It’s what you’d expect. The food is mediocre a little too sweet for my taste. But what you do get is a lot of food for a reasonable price.
