Was told 45 minute wait, and will receive a call. got the call, "we are ready for you" arrived and they said it was given to another customer. waited another 30 minutes, while he said 45 minute to 10 people who signed in. this is placeb is good for party of 2 only... not a good experience today..... then they gave me the wrong food...still waiting at 224pm for my lunch
For me, 5 star is not enough. I would definitely give this a 10 out of 10! This charming place is such a vibe! Liberté Cafe is both gastronomically and visually pleasing. Besides the yummy food, whenever we would visit this place, all the staff especially John (if I'm not mistaken), are all welcoming and warm. This is our go-to place for some of our celebrations. And we would always, always leave with a happy tummy, and all smiles with their awesome service. Today, we came here to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We were lucky to get a table, cause they're especially busy on weekends. ❤️
My boss recommended to me this place, and in turn, I have also recommended Liberté to my friends and colleagues.

Controversial Seating Policy
We were meeting a friend at this café at noon on Saturday. We arrived 10 minutes early, but our friend wasn’t there yet. The receptionist told us to wait without explaining why, even though there were many empty tables inside. Later, we saw a sign that stated all guests must arrive before being seated, which we understood, since one person was still missing from our group.
However, 10 minutes later, a man arrived and was immediately welcomed inside by the receptionist, even though his companion had not yet arrived. We complained to the receptionist, and after a few rounds of discussion, he finally led us to our table.
We had one person missing, and we had to wait for more than 10 minutes. Another man, who also had one person missing, was allowed in right away without waiting. At the time, the café wasn’t busy at all, and we couldn’t understand why we were made to wait outside for over 10 minutes when there were plenty of empty tables inside. Many restaurants have seating policies, but only during peak hours. Strict adherence to seating policies during non-peak hours when there are many empty tables is poor customer service.

Amazing experience, flavors, and service! It’s rare to find a restaurant or café with such high standards, and I’m so grateful to have discovered this gem after hours of research (for ube 😂) during our trip to Vancouver! As an ube fanatic, this place was absolutely perfect. Here’s the breakdown:
1. Waffle: Perfectly crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, with distinct ube flavors throughout. Highly recommend pairing with ube ice cream—but don’t place it directly on top to preserve the waffle’s crispness.
2. Chicken: Golden-brown and perfectly crispy with the right temperature and thickness. Slightly salty for me, but sparkling water balanced it out beautifully.
3. Salad: The dressing was too heavy for my mild palate, so I’d separate it next time.
4. Fries: A few at the top had the ideal crispness and temperature. Slightly salty for my taste, but overall not bad. (Note: I’m not a big fan of steak fries, so take this with a grain of salt—pun intended!)
5. Ube Latte: Stunning presentation, but tasted more like milk to me. I added no sugar, so that could be why. It paired perfectly with the waffle and ice cream, though, as I found the ice cream slightly sweet for my liking.
6. Ube Bun: Loved the cream filling! A touch sweet for me, but balanced nicely with the ube latte.
7. Service: Absolutely amazing—friendly and attentive!
If you’re an ube lover, this is a must-visit spot!

Love their Rib eye steak eggs (very interesting fusion). It was yummy. 4 of us went in for brunch and everything was so on point other than them being so busy. Food itself tasted good but I took away one star for service because we had to ask fir basics (cutlery, sauces, water) and the table we had was a little higher than rest so I give them benefit of doubt of not seeing us and hence not checking in with us more often. But all my friends loved their burgers, my friend is a picky vegetarian even she loved the food. I particularly LOVE their Ube Lattes and go here very often for that. Even their desserts hit the spot.
Vegetarian options: Good burger.
Parking: I'd say to call in advance over the weekend because it gets really busy.

Casual cafe located just off a busy intersection of Kingsway and Boundary. Affordable prices and lots of menu options to pick from. They have free underground parking available. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Came here twice and would definitely come back again!!

Me and my family had my bday breakfast here, it’s our first time here and had a great experience. The friendly Filipino server (John) very attentive and always smiling. The other young Filipino too serious and not happy working at 8am, Lol. Over all the food was amazing!

We came here on the weekend. The wait time was around 40 min. It was worth the wait. The chicken ube waffle was good. Ube toast and ube latte was amazing. Service was good too!

Allright, so on food alone this place could be a 5 easy. However .. and this is not an understatement. The service was horrible. On numerous occasions, we had to ask the server at least twice if not thrice for something. It's like they just didn't care. Once for extra milk for coffee, second was an extra spoon and third for hot sauce.
No personality as in no smile, very robotic like ( a male server with a ponytail).
I get it, it is a popular spot and the food kicks a$$ so maybe they don't need to show some attention to service because who cares, they r packed. That's how I felt.
I'll go back, hoping this was just a bad day for the 3 servers who helped us?

It’s a neighborhood cafe that has pretty decent food and drinks. I loved the ube component in the dishes (ie ube waffles and ube latte) and that you can order lunch/dinner style dishes at 8am in the morning! The only qualm I had was the curtness of one of the servers but maybe I caught him on a bad day.
