I’m writing this review with a heavy heart, as I’ve been a loyal customer since they opened, and this place has meant a lot to our family. I took my daughter this morning for a special breakfast date, but after waiting 25 minutes for a breakfast sandwich, the server asked if we had ordered two. I hadn’t, but I realized I’d been charged for two sandwiches instead of one. Unfortunately, we had to leave for our next appointment, and the cashier’s line was far too long for me to bring it up with the staff. I still can’t believe we waited 25 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and that the server only noticed the issue when we asked.
I honestly don’t have the time to make another trip back to Commercial Drive just to ask for a refund—especially considering that I even left an 18% tip for zero service. I called twice and no one picked up. After seeing similar concerns in other reviews, it’s disappointing that there’s been no response to customer feedback.

Great food, flavors are amazing. The breakfast sandwich was delicious even without the mortadella (+$4). Rigatoni was not worth it, portions are tiny for $28 (as pictured), but flavors are solid. Portions on the smaller side and food service was relaxed, but grabbed our plates as soon as we were done. Pay up front and they'll give you a number for dine in to seat yourself.
Mine of my favourite places in Vancouver for sure, I am heartbroken they are ending dinner service!

Had breakfast at Livia and enjoyed one of the best mochas I’ve had. The handcrafted mug with speckles added charm—so much so that I couldn’t tell if it was the mug or the drink that made the experience stand out. Maybe both! And I can’t stop rubbing my thumb against it.
I paired the mocha with a pear croissant, carbonara, and a breakfast sandwich. The croissant was good, though not the best I’ve had. The carbonara was saltier than expected and quite different from other versions, but the pasta was perfectly al dente. The highlight was the breakfast sandwich—it was delicious, with mozzarella that was wonderfully stretchy.
I really like the atmosphere here. Could be busy at times though. There were some other options on the menu that looked interesting. And the coffee and sandwich is worth coming back for sure!

We recently visited LIVIA Forno e Vino for the first time, and it turned out to be a great spot for a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast. The decor is cozy and calming, offering a chill atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s a wonderful place to stop by for a good coffee and breakfast, and the food was just as satisfying as the ambiance.
One thing to note is that seating is limited, so if you’re planning to visit during a busy time, it might be harder to find a spot. There’s also a bar table right next to the cashier, and if you end up sitting there, you might unintentionally block the cashier area. This could be a bit inconvenient for both customers and staff.
Overall, it’s a lovely, quaint place to enjoy a well-prepared meal, especially if you’re looking for a calm start to your morning.

🍞 A Delightful Italian Start at LIVIA Forno e Vino! ☕
☕ Stopped by LIVIA Forno e Vino to grab a coffee and a panini, and it was a wonderful start to the day! The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the cozy space, making it feel like a little slice of Italy right on Commercial Drive. My panini was packed with flavor, and the coffee was smooth—an excellent pairing for a morning treat.
🍅 LIVIA is more than just a café; it’s a charming bakery and wine bar that offers a delightful range of Italian treats, from fresh sourdough to homemade pasta. On our second visit, we enjoyed a Negroni Americano along with brunch and pasta—each dish was a joy to savor. Their emphasis on quality ingredients really shines through in every bite.
🌞 The ambiance is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing brunch or lunch. It’s easy to lose track of time browsing their pastry selection or chatting with the friendly staff who are always ready with a recommendation. The outdoor patio is a nice spot to enjoy some sunshine while you sip on an espresso.
🍷 Overall, LIVIA Forno e Vino offers a taste of Italy with its fresh, quality offerings and charming vibe. Whether you’re stopping by for coffee, a meal, or just a snack, it’s a must-visit. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu!

I paid $24 for a breakfast sandwich with mortadella and ricotta to go. I get home and my wife finds no mortadella 🤦🏻♂️

《🌞 SUNDAY BRUNCH 🌞 》
- breakfast sandwich w/ mortadella = $17.5 -
- livia classico = $22 -
Back on a more sunny day... We managed to catch the brunch service at Livia and had the most amazing time.
The food was fantastic! I really enjoyed the classico with sour dough toast. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and dipping that toast into the whipped ricotta and runny egg yolks was 👌 I also really enjoyed the little bit of acidity that the pickled veggies added to the dish.
We opted to add mortadella to our breakfast sandwich and it added a nice bit of saltiness to each bite. I couldn't tell what was fluffier, the scrambled eggs or the bun!

A small but remarkable “ cozy” spot…amazing menu . Just moving from a dinner service after 5 to only daytime/ apperttivo operation… huge change of house made breads and pastries… great breakfast- lunch and snacks. In the heart of Vancouver’s Little Italy it channels “ that little enocetica or cafe” down some laneway in a little Italian town …my choice for enjoying life… and my birthday!
Enjoy a Negroni- or two:)

It was delicious, but the food was either overly salty or overly bland. The ragu sauce and bread were so salty that I couldn't even touch the sauce even after eating the whole bread. The pasta was delicious, but too salty, and the vegan dish, I can't remember the name, was so bland that I had to add extra meat from the ragu sauce or the meat from the pasta. The store was busy so the servers didn't seem to pay much attention.
Sourdough bread is so delicious.
