Great place for dating. The environment is like a Japanese bar. Food was delicious. I like the oshi and tempera . Chef recommends sushi 12 pieces is worth to try too. Sashimi and curry noodles were so so. Services are good and gentle. In total I still recommend the quite little place to spend with your lover.

Amazing sushi spot! The fish was incredibly fresh, and each piece was beautifully prepared. I loved the variety, especially the pressed sushi and the salmon tataki. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

The food tastes good, but the portion size is really small. The sujinabe is the size of the palm of your hand and overall, it seems to be expensive compared to the portion size.
I ordered a 6-piece sushi set, but I was very confused when I saw the bowl. Please note that pretty plates start from 12 pieces. ^^
The most disappointing thing was the server. There were two servers. The one with yellow hair was friendly, but the one with black ponytail only gave small talk to foreigners, and when I decided to ask for more tea after I finished eating, he refilled me just as much as in the picture. Hahaha. Are you telling me to leave? ^_^?
No intention to revisit

Really enjoyed this new sushi / Japanese tapas spot in English Bay. Definitely has the vibe check for making you feel you are in a cool Japanese bar. I can already imagine the patio will be a popular spot to chill and eat in the summer months.
All the dishes we ordered were very good. My only complaint would be the “ebi mayo” isn’t like the usual ebi mayo you would find at say kingyo/suika where it’s a legit big prawn… here it was just shrimp tempura with sauce drizzled on it.
The sushi and sashimi were very good and tasted great !!
Service was excellent and were very proactive

the food is good, but service needs to improve. The order of things being served, time for serving, the waiters being more aware of tables and customer services in general was really dissatisfying. There’s no thoughtfulness about understanding the experience of eating. If it wasn’t because it was a large group with 18% tip requirements, I wouldn’t have left any tip.

The restaurant space is large and nice decor. Ordered sashimi salad and sashimi plate to go. They were both delicious but noticeably smaller portions and more expensive than other local sushi restaurants. This would be a better place to sit down and eat rather than take out so you can appreciate the service.
The real downside though, that every restaurant that opens in this location has, the bathrooms are in a shared area in the back of the building and they are not good at all.

We had a reservation but we had to wait for 30 minutes to sit. It took them a very very long time to bring our food. The food was okay but the presentation was so unpleasant that we couldn’t eat the food. They offered us miso soup on the house which was very bland and tasteless and they served it a stainless steal bowls which was very unappealing.
This was a vey disappointing experience.

I used to like the previous restaurant, Horangee sikdang, so I decided to visit after hearing it was renovated into a sushi restaurant.
The ebi mayo I’ve had before always came with plump, large shrimp covered generously in mayo sauce. However, the ebi mayo here was disappointing.
thin shrimp tempura with way too many vegetables. It felt more like a shrimp tempura salad than ebi mayo. For $19, it’s definitely overpriced.
The sushi looked good, but the rice grains kept falling apart, making it difficult to eat.
We ordered the ebi mayo, chef’s selection plate, dynamite roll, and salmon maki, and the total came to about $80. Considering the portion sizes and quality, the price was way too high. 😕
The servers were friendly, but I don’t think I’ll come back again. I miss horangee…
We had to wait 30 minutes to sit although we had a reservation. There is no designated host so we were just trying to catch a server’s eye and they all evaded. Once seated, the food took a long time to arrive and the main sushi dish looked so unappetizing that my friend couldn’t eat (and she had to pay for a dish she couldn’t bring herself to eat). I was so hungry so I had to force myself to eat it. The taste was good but it looked so unappealing that it ruined the food for me. Miso soup that was given to us “on the house” since everything was so late was super watery and very unpleasant. I rarely leave reviews, and least of all bad reviews but I really wanted to in this case since if I had seen a review like this I would have avoided this place. The only positive about this spot was the retro/chic vibe but overall this place wasn’t for me. The management has to re-evaluate some things here and act on them.

My partner and I walked in here tonight just before 8:30 and requested seating for two. They asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. After we said no they mentioned they were fully booked (meanwhile there were multiple tables open along with bar seating). We were told that they can make a reservation for a different day. After I went online I noticed that they had available seating for 9pm which was 30 min later. I would have preferred to be told the truth and not a lie and turned away.

Fantastic spot right on the seafront! Amazing food, forgot to take pictures of all of our dishes because I was too busy licking my plate clean! The spicy cream udon could very well be one of the best dishes I’ve had, ever!
