Food service was great, the waitress provided some recommendations. We had an infant with us and thankfully we were still able to enjoy our meal. Great drink selections, we would definitely come back.
This is one of the best restaurants in North America.. The lone negative is that you really need to be on time so you have a chance to savor the food, which is memorable, bbhb but it comes out of the kitchen very fast. Share plates and be sure to have the octopus skewed, beef carpaccio, steak and any of a number of strong vegetarian options. Don't miss the house special dessert.
Cosy ambiance, excellent service, food tasty and presented beautifully. Ordered crispy pork spring rolls, duck salad, fried soft shelled crabs with basil and lettuce wraps, Bun Bo Hue noodle soup for lunch. Enjoy the meal. Will return to sample others on the menu.
I had a good overall experience at The Lunch Lady in Vancouver. The standout dish for me was definitely the prawn fritters—super crispy, golden, and full of flavor. Paired with fresh herbs and fish sauce, they were absolutely delicious and worth ordering again.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the presentation of all the dishes was great. Everything arrived looking fresh and vibrant.
I ordered the pho, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The rare beef was a bit too chewy, and the broth lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for. It was decent, but not the highlight of the meal.
Overall, a nice spot with good food and a great atmosphere—just not my favorite pho in town.
This is the worst and most disgusting pho I’ve ever had 🤢🤢🤢 ordered beef pho first thing in the morning, you would think everything is nice and fresh when the restaurant first open. It was quite the opposite - bean sprouts arrived dark and brown, they didn’t look edible at all. All the beef pieces were so fat, it was absolutely disgusting. Their food is on the pricy side but they serve very low quality food to their customers. There are tons of affordable pho spots in town that are cheaper, serve a millions time better quality food and taste way better. What a waste of money, avoid at all cost!!!
Amazing food as always!!! I haven't been back in a few months and they've changed the menu slightly. Although I miss their cod dish I'm used to ordering, my friend and I got to explore their other menu items and thoroughly enjoyed their clams, crab fried rice, octopus skewers and beef carpaccio this time! Drinks were top notch especially cocktails and egg coffee (a must!). Service was impeccable - we had Elie as our server and she was sociable, friendly, approachable, helpful and caring. Can't wait to go back and try other items! Outstanding value! Make sure you book a table in advance - they're popular :)
This is a must visit stop when visiting Vancouver. The broth is fabulous…I could have it alone and be completely satisfied! Luckily, the soup comes with many delicious choices. Everything we have tried is worth ordering again. Super service and a cozy atmosphere.
good to try
The food is absolutely delicious. So creative and well done. We found that the service was unfortunately really slow overall. We had too much time waiting between courses, and it took so long we ended up taking dessert home. We were not offered another drink. The tables and chairs inside are really rickety plastic, so there's always a danger anytime you move or shift that something will spill, which we did. And it's loud, the space is echoing and the music is loud, so better for a boisterous time with friends than an intimate date or where you need to talk.
3rd time and as always food was outstanding, soft shell crab and duck salad was excellent, My wife Pho was the best I have tasted in 30 years of eating pho at least once a month in different restaurants. Adding Foie Gras was unique but work really well. My personal preference is Cha Gio in rice paper and not wonton wrappers. Filling and Nuoc Cham was well flavoured and balanced. Highly recommend but make your reservation as early as possible.

Very good food but way overpriced. We ordered a starter (prawn fritters) which came with a small plate of 3 lettuces and some mint/basil. When asked for another piece of lettuce to wrap our last piece of prawn fritter, we were served exactly one piece of lettuce. That's fine, but what really caught us by surprise was being charged $4 for that one piece of lettuce! LOL. Never going there again....it's good food but not that good enough for the prices on the menu. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
We managed to get a lunch booking the day before. The service was great and the flavours of the meal were outstanding. We were happy with prices. Can highly recommend the coffee with condensed milk and the grilled chicken and rice and pork skewers and noodles!!
Nick did an excellent job as our server for the night. My favourite dish of the night were the crispy prawns. A close second was the wagyu pho. Parking can get difficult to find but if you are lucky you can snag a spot on the street or in the nearby residential area.
Fuimos un par de amigos por recomendación y definitivamente la comida es muy rica, recomiendo el té frío de coco con el Classic Beef Pho y al final el postre de la casa.
Finally got here. Nothing but good things. Place was swamped. Still got seated within 15 minutes. Staff were friendly and on top of it all! Food came fast, hot, and delicious. Definitely be back and highly recommend.
