We had the most wonderful evening at The Lunch Lady! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour — and the cocktails were just as impressive. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed date night. Service was friendly and attentive without being rushed. A great spot on Commercial Drive — we'll definitely be back!

The steak was excellent and the beef carpaccio had a fresh taste (mint) that wasn't expected but it was a pleasant surprise. I was a bit disappointed with the garlic noodles because it had a very strong fishy flavor that felt different from the first time I tried last year - there's a note on the menu saying that ingredient could change to maintain quality. the restaurant has a good vibe. I wanna go back to try the pho.

A good restaurant. The food was tasty. The beef pho was very good and the plate size is enough for two (from my perspective). The shrimp fritters and the pork belly bowl are delicious but very greasy as well, so you may want to choose between the two instead of ordering both as I did. We order a drink that never came and I just realized I didn't check the bill so I don't know if it was charged at all. We had complimentary dessert, which I always consider the best of the gestures, so I don't mind too much about the drink now.

When lunch lady first opened, it was something special. Since then, every experience has become more underwhelming. We visited this past week with friends and our baby who came in a small travel stroller. I had made sure to leave a note with the reservation stating such at the time of reservation a week prior. For one, no one acknowledged nor helped us from check into the restaurant to seating. No one bothered to ask nor check to see if there is a better place for a family with a small stroller. Multiple servers bumped into the stroller during dining. No one acknowledged or apologized. We felt unwelcomed to say the least. For a Michelin recommended restaurant, this is absolutely one of the worst dining experiences I've had to date. It was partially my own fault for choosing a restaurant with limited space, but it's on the restaurant to identify this and to perhaps remedy the situation or simply to just acknowledge this and try to help. Aside from the terrible experience, the food has really taken a turn. Dishes used to have much more complex flavours with depth, but this visit was mediocre. The spring roll were the smallest I've ever seen at any viet restaurant and for a price of 14$ it is unbelievable. I really think it's time Lunch Lady came off the high horse and tried to return to its more humble roots. It was much more enjoyable back then. Would not be returning.

We sat at the bar and there was lots of space and seats were comfortable. The bar tender provided excellent food selections as we were first timers. We had the vegetable spring rolls and the steak entree. Both were fantastic. The spring rolls were the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly and the portions are large. Highly recommend. The restaurant was completely full with a line up at 12pm on a Tuesday so be sure to make a reservation.

We sat on the enclosed patio, it was plenty warm for a fall day and the food and drinks were amazing. Would definitely come again and would definitely recommend but absolutely make a reso because its a smaller restaurant and they get busy!! 10/10

We had an incredible dinner at The Lunch Lady, every dish was spot on! The taro chips, beef carpaccio, soft shell crab, pork skewers, and beef pho were all beautifully executed with fresh herbs and bold flavors. The service was just as impressive; our server was so patient, kind, and attentive. The vibe is lively and warm, making it a perfect spot for a night out. Highly recommend this place we'll definitely be back! Oh and don't forget to check out the cocktail menu!
