Excellent food and service. Special note of the gracious person on the phone who explained their reservation system and dining options. Would be 5 stars, but the room is small, and the volume generated by the one large group the last time we were there made it impossible for us to have a normal level conversation. This was not our experience other times when seating was tables of 4 or less so we will be back.

Worth every penny. The betel leaf “tacos” with pomelo were really good. For the main plate, a staff member recommended one of the curries (there are three options: beef, sablefish or lamb); I had the braised beef with green curry, which was superb. One of the best high-end restaurants I’ve been to in the last

Another great dinner at Maenam. The shrimp, lamb shank curry and the sea bass curry were amazing! I tried the Amethyst cocktail and had our usual mussels and salads. They were all delicious just as I expected. The Thai flavor came out of every dish. Service is excellent!

Probably the best Thai food I've had. Let me explain. If you're familiar with Thai food, think about where you experience it. Now think about how its prepared. Lastly, think about the quality of the ingredients and they way they are presented to you. Now, think about all of these factors combined and brining them up a few notches. That's Maenam. Thai food like you've probably never experienced it.To kick off our dinner, we had a few of their tailored made cocktails. The longan old fashioned and the blossom blooming were well balanced. As an appetizer we had the roti bread with peanut sauce, which was great. However the dishes we fully enjoyed were their grilled beef salad, the roasted sablefish dishes, and the pad thai. The beef salad was elegant and full of tender juicy slices of beef. The shrimp pad thai was definitely the best pad thai I've had. The roasted sablefish was butter and the chuchi curry it came with was a great compliment to dish. None of the dishes too spicy, and had a great balance of flavors.Maenam is a must try if you're ever in the Vancouver area. Enjoy!Parking: We dined on a Saturday night and it didn't take too long for us to find some street parking but just be prepared.

Really enjoyed the meal. I wasn’t sure what to expect but every dish was very well made, the ingredients worked well together, and the portions were good. My favorites were the Tom kha soup (the red chilli is hot), the sable fish curry, and custard like dessert. The cocktails were very good as well.

Maenam used to be one of the best restaurants in vancouver. It was one of my favourites and had the best lunch sets with soup, papaya salad and a main! Ever since they changed their menu I feel as though the experience has declined. They no longer even offer the soup or salad, which were incredible, and entire menu is a la carte so you have to get (and pay for) more, larger dishes to get the same amount of variety. They’ve even removed some of my favourite mains entirely from the menu, like the grilled pork or friend chicken. The food is still good, and the service has always been fantastic, but it seems like they’re going in the wrong direction.

2024 Winter Tasting Menu. I really liked how the food is served family style.A great dining experience, our waiter explained each dish and answered all our questions. The snacks were all bangers. The flavour in the hot and sour pork soup blended really well. Desserts were all fun to try.Would suggest getting the sablefish curry over the chicken curry, the consistency of the chicken curry was very thin.

We went to Maenam Mar 2, 2024 to continue my husband's 50th birthday celebration. We were not disappointed, we almost didn't get a table because I had reserved online but they didn't have our reservation BUT they gave us a space at the bar. We had the set Chef's Menu Winter. You get the Snack and Relish, then we select share plates Hot and Sour Squid Soup which was amazing, spicy enough and super tasty. Then Crispy Mushroom Laab Salad to die for in my opinion, it had different types of mushrooms and everything was crispy. After we had Sable Fish Chichi Curry also delicious, small piece for two people but enough with all the other dishes added. The last dishes come with a bowl of rice to share. Then we had Pun nim Pad Pong Gari, you eat it like a wrap, small enough but filling and super flavourful. Finally the three desserts, one per person. The cocktails were also very good, the one in the photo is Blooming Blossom. One thing we noticed was that all dishes are a bit on the sweet side. We will go back to try the A la Carte Menu as the dishes are eye catching. Highly recommend that you give it a try, you won't be disappointed. It was pricy but well worth it. You will be satisfy.Vegetarian options: They will make a vegetarian dish if you askDietary restrictions: They offer vegan options and they ask if you have allergies

?️ Exploring the culinary scene at Maenam, a Michelin Guide gem ?Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️& would return with friends. On Valentine’s Day, we opted for a taste of traditional Thai cuisine in this chic eatery. Although they extended their dine-out menu at $65pp, we chose to go à la carte for a different mix of dishes. The ambience was enchanting, and we could see ourselves returning with friends. We found most dishes on the sweeter side, which might not suit everyone’s palate. However, the dishes were still unique and filled with Thai flavours. Here is a peak into our adventure:1️⃣⭐️Thai Cupcake with Nova Scotia Lobster2️⃣ Tom Kha Coconut Soup of Halibut - Authentic but pricey.3️⃣ ⭐️Duck Leg in Curry ? - A standout dish!4️⃣ House-made Naan - less oily but less crispy, could skip5️⃣ Pad Thai6️⃣ Desserts:⭐️Chocolate pot de crème - love the hint of spice Bua Loy with Dok Jok - Similar to other Asian desserts, could be skipped.

Five star with a big asterisk. I can’t speak for the rest of the fine-dining menu, but I’ll give a review solely based on the Pad Thai. This restaurant does the usual strategy where they have an expensive menu but also keep a few reasonably priced a la carte dishes so they don’t rule out casual diners. The $30 Pad Thai they have is pretty dope. The portion is reasonable, great protein-to-starch ratio, everything on the plate is fresh, and seasoning is well-balanced, not overly sour like many other Thai places. I wouldn’t say it blew me away, but it doesn’t have to. It is a fine attempt at a classic working class dish.Of course, the Pad Thai here is about 70% more expensive than other places, but I think it is 70% better. It’s priced just right for repeated visits and small celebrations. It is quite better than the Unchai just down the street. Then again I can’t say the same about the rest of the menu, as being a casual diner I definitely won’t pay $50 for the Sablefish dish.Service is good - nothing to complain about.

We arrived at 8:30 pm on a Saturday. The prompt seating, delightful service, and delicious food made our evening memorable. The Tom Kha soup was a burst of flavors, and the eggplant stir fry with jasmine rice was tasty, though slightly on the oily side for my preference. Overall, a great experience worth revisiting.

Went for Dine Out 2024. Every dish we ordered tasted incredible and the portions were larger than expected. Hard to find these flavours and quality elsewhere. Service was excellent. Would 100% recommend.
