Had a good lunch at Mamalee, our first time at one of their locations. I wanted their Chee Cheong Fun, but it was unavailable on a Friday around 12:30. I had their Malay Spicy Pan Mee ($19.95). It was tasty and flavourful when mixed together, and had a good amount of ground pork, fried anchovies, green onions, and a poached egg. Noodles had a nice chew. For the price, I do wish the portion size was a bit larger. The dish isn't too deep. I can't handle much spice, so...
This is disappointing. So much hyped online. Chicken and rice was ok. Portion size is illogical. Ordered half chicken and a bowl of rice thinking that’d be more than the chicken and rice plate. Nope. Laksa was meh. Dessert was meh (and completely different from what the picture looks like). Even the grass jelly drink was meh. As we left, someone asked us whether it was good. We said it was ok and they left. That was our good deed for the day.
Disclaimer, I discovered that I am not a fan of hainanese chicken.
The food is okay with portions that are on the smaller side. The service was good and efficient and the background music was a zen japanese lo-fi jazz. However, I think it is overpriced for such a casual, low effort eatery + I wanted extra sauce and wasn't told anything about it costing extra until I found $3.50 dollars on the bill for something like 2 tablespoons. Don't think I will go back....
